Well I'm a little suspicious about this from the article:

Including options, my Prime tester with the Advanced package lists for $36,305. That is $3,700 less than a comparably equipped Volt. But the federal tax credits ($4,502 for the Toyota, $7,500 for the Chevy) wipe out much of the difference.​

When I checked, the TSS-P equivalent alone was enough to jack the Volt price up $3k. But I only know what I found when I checked out the Volt at a local Chevy dealer. I got the impression you had to buy the top of the line trim. In contrast, my Prius Prime Plus comes with TSS-P standard. Not trying to compare Apples-to-Oranges but gosh darn, it is just a car.

Perhaps it is time to just loan the Prius Prime Plus for car reviews and not the Premium or Advanced. Many of the reviewers pan the 'Tesla-like' display while the Plus is more 'conventional'. But best of all, the lower price of the Plus makes cost comparisons to the Volt nearly impossible.
