What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

Sounds like a plan. I only have a few mods

 

Probably more than the 3 I have done. It will also be nice to have another red Prius at the meet ups!

I know @mmmodem appreciates the aerodynamic improvement I have made.

 

I cleaned the EGR passage pipe. R&R and cleaning took me 20 minutes. At 112k miles, it was a little chunky but cleaned out quickly with carb cleaner. Not bad at all.

 

Repaired my lip. A combo of scrubbing it on a driveway and hitting something on the freeway literally the day after painting it and installing it last week




Sanded, primed, wet sanded, painted, wet sanded a little more on some areas where it was hit, and put on several coats. Hopefully I learned my lesson on taking steeper driveways too fast. Even went at angle and still scrubbed. Guess if it happens again I'll have to do it again.

finally got rid of the ebay fogs the kit came with. one broken one and one that was not sealed properly, so it develops a lot of condensation.

propped up the entire bumper in my "workspace garage"... then got to installing.


and if you ever wondered what it would look like in an emelementary school hallway or library, here ya go.



everyone knows the struggle of installing the 12V wire through the available "nipple-grommet" to get from the engine bay into the cabin. was able to nip it, and pull through with a clothing hangar. Literally, the hardest part of the entire thing.


and everything is good to go except the fogs. they arent turning on still even after my complete rewiring of the harness. i think its the fuse or bulbs. will let you guys know when i get another work day into the car.

It'll go better with your green theme? Maybe some yellow laminex film over your DRLs/signal lights? It shouldn't affect the amber signals much...

 

Where do u get the ones witj the blue drl? Thought it was only available in white

Just as a note to the other Southern US folks - at least here in Georgia, blue lights of any kind, placed anywhere, on any motor vehicle, are reserved only for the police. This is very strictly enforced, at least around here, and is not something I'd suggest taking a chance on.

 

So if you had a red prius like me...what color combo would you go with this wheel? I been having a hard time choosing.

I'm working on a few upgrades on my 2014 Prius, Package 3. So far I've put in a set of 2014 Toyota Corolla S alloy wheels and tires which I'm very happy with. I've also blacked out the badges and black-chromed my emblems. I'm planning on more upgrades, tinting, audio system, and I'm thinking of upgrading the suspension and handling at some point.

Right now I was looking for an Toyota Prius Gen III OEM leather steering wheel. I would love a JDM steering wheel but right now I will use a leather steering wheel. Please let me know if anyone has one after upgrading to a JDM steering wheel.

P.S. I have to thank all of the contributors that I've found on Priuschat - without their research and sharing of information I would have never been able to make any modifications without a lot of headaches.
