What do the rims look like under the caps on the Prime's wheels?

For those wanting to see the center wheel cap on the stock aluminum wheels on the Prius Prime Advanced without the stock plastic hub caps (which are to reduce wind resistance). I picked up the car last night so here are some pictures.

I just fired off an email to the ToyotaPartsPeople dot com about wheel center caps for the Prime. I will post again with their response.

I'm curious if the wheels from a gen3 prius lift back ( the black ones ) would fit on a Prime.

The problem with the folk in the parts departments is they are using the parts catalog supplied by Toyota USA which went out of their way to hide what parts fit together. They want people to use the plastic covers for better wind resistance because some engineer thinks the will give them better numbers, they just forgot to tell us under what real world conditions, not in the wind tunnel. Trouble is that if you are driving in stop and go traffic or on back roads at between 35 and 45 mph traffic and not spending the bulk of the time (at high speed above 55 mph) my guess is the covers have virtually no impact what so ever. Would be nice if they gave customers some real world numbers, instead of no information or numbers.

Does Toyota refer to the covers as aerodynamic? I suspect they do, just wondering if so and where.

    Addendum:

In the Owner's Manual the plastic pieces on the 17" rims are referred to as "decorative resin parts". And on the 15" I see the expression "wheel ornament".

there is in impact as I described a few posts above, for me, 40/50 miles of my commute are on the fwy @ 67mph, it's ~ 2%, not a whole lot but it is there ... and i agree, for speeds < ~50 mph probably negligible

And then you have to contend with small rocks getting caught (and making noise) in the space between the plastic frisbees and the wheels.

How about Gen 2 wheels (non-touring/15")? Has anybody tried that combination yet?

Just ordered a set. The black and chrome should be about perfect for the silver wheels and the magnetic grey color. Should know in a week. Thanks for the ordering info!
Re: I did not see the Prime's rear tray liner for sale up at Amazon. That's something they should have.

The caps I ordered from Amazon the other day came in a week early. Wheel caps unboxing...

    Out of the box:

I was expecting a metal ring inserted on the back side at the edge of the friction clamps like I've seen for other brands of caps - none here. Looks black, but the dark background is more a dark grey, perfect for the Magnetic Grey or black exterior.

I don't have them on the wheels yet, mostly because the car is still about a week out.

They Install in about 15 seconds a wheel, they just pop in. Warning tell the dealer not to mount the Frisbees because they can scratch the rims.

That's what I've been reading in a couple of threads. The dealer prep instructions include 1) Keep the wheel covers in the plastic bags they come in and place those behind the seats on the floor. Don't install on wheels. 2) Backup beep to one beep at n/c 3) Install the black shifter cover at n/c (I'm paying for the cover).

Interested in seeing a photo of the shiftier cover installed, is it the same plastic as the rest of the black trim?

I didn't measure mine. Look up a few posts for the stock number and how to order.

I just discovered a new feature on my Prime. Self removing wheel covers.

I am pulling the remaining 3 and ordering the caps.

Well, I'll say this, it's much easier to check the tire pressure and add air with the hubcaps off.

What are all you guys doing with your plastic wheel covers? Selling on eBay?
