I was able to install the techstream software on my windows 10 64-bit laptop and make a connection to my 2012 Prius 2. the issue i'm having is... when it ask for Model Code, Vehicle spec I notice i can not select the year make and model like I've seen on you tube videos. Am i missing something?
Nevermind. I found the issue. When setting up Techstream you need to choose USA/North American and not Europe. I know they say to choose Europe to avoid putting a serial number but it will have issues trying to identify the car correctly.... there is a work around to get it working with out the serial number in this forum.
how were you able to install and have it running on a 64bit windows os. I read somewhere it only runs on 32bit windows os
The techstream version I purchased several months ago was advertised as able to work on 64 bit computers. The CD I received had two different file paths. One for 32 bit and an additional for 64 bit. I believe the 64 bit files were just some type of patch/assistance to make the 64bit computer understand the 32 bit program. If you couldn't guess, I'm not exactly up to speed on my computer terminology. It loaded perfectly fine on my Win 10 laptop. Works well also, although I did find I need to turn off the wireless connection prior to connecting to the car, otherwise it tells me I need to do a mandatory update and locks me at the update screen.
