I have a persona so it already has the oem mirror lights so if I wanted to covert to this style would I just need the light asembely to replace the current one and wire it up? @sfv41901

 

Correct. U already have the turn single power. U would just need to wire up a constant +12v, puddle & parking light

Very useful info I did my puddle lights this way on the drivers side upper pillar on 2/19/17 but my 2013 Prius II was wrapped in a little different color tape. I sliced the wrapping tape which was thicker in some spots than others about 5 inches so I had room to tap the + and -. My puddle lights used a white wire for ground and a black for power. I found several wires bundled which also included a set of three white wires that were all on what looked like a flat white tape with them all running parallel, I attached the white (-) from the puddle light I had to the blue wire from the wire bundle and I used a utility knife and made a slit between the upper white triple flat tape looking wire and the white wire in the middle of it. And then put a connector on the upper white wire and jackpot. In my case I sliced the tape wrapping where your photo that is on page 40 of this chat thread ( page 40 on my browser anyhow) shows the blue wire and sliced in down going left to right toward the dashboard. I also found the flat triple wires that are white wrapped up in the same group of wires as the blue wire. Sorry no pic.

 

Just picked up a pair of these and am beginning to install them but wanted to know which color wires are for what?

Thanks man! Which wire would you tap for the constant 12V? Or could you just fuse tap it in the dash panel fuse box? This Avest turn signal mirror has one extra wire that's throwing me off from the instructions... lol

 

Never mind, I picked up a light tester and found a few constant 12V!

The brightness on these are incredible! Best of all, there's two switches to control the sequential vs flashing and the DRL/Pilot option (in case I don't want to attract too much attention ).

Next up, the courtesy/puddle lights!

 

Need help please with the Avest wiring.

 

To confirm:
Red = Signal
Green = Parking Light
Black = Ground
Yellow = 12v
?

Where would one connect the Yellow to for the 12v?

 

I installed mines on a Prius v. Not a regular Gen3 Prius, so the wiring will be different. To simply find a constant 12v via a light tester or multimeter

Lucky you got instructions... I got it from Avest's eBay account and got none. What specifically would you need help on?

 

Whoa! And you were able to install yours without instructions? I'm struggling to install mine with instructions. Lol.

With the instructions it came with, the black/white wires goes to the dome light wire for the puddle lights. Looking at the other threads for the LED side mirrors install, they only connected the black wire to the blue wire in the A-pillar. So where would the white wire go?

 

Not sure where they tapped the white wire, but I know the white wire taps into a constant 12v.

Thanks for the help! I looked over page 18 and will attempt the wiring again on the weekend.

 

Was cleaning my kitchen table and I found the instructions to the Avest mirrors...whoops! Finished installing the puddle lights on my v last night!

 

Couldn't you just use the wires for the puddle lights already in the door interior panel?
