does anyone else have this issue? my phone's signal is bit spotty where I live. When I launch the entune app on my phone and have poor signal, the login sometime fails. and when this happens, the field for username and password gets wiped out. i have to enter it in every time. note that this is when signal is poor. i was able to replicate this issue by doing the following at home while connected to wifi. log in, no issues everything works. force close the entune app, (double tap home button and slide up the app) put the phone on airplane mode, launch the entune app. login obviously fails, but the username, password field is blank. i cannot seem to make the username and password stick when the login fails.. i've tried rebooting the phone, deleting/reinstalling the app. i've contacted Toyota customer experience center 800.331.4331 they are bunch of monkeys... even say things like "no one here can help you" what a bunch of )#*%&@#)%... any ideas?
Personally I gave up using Entune awhile back. I have the latest update on my iPhone (version 1.20.55) and just did a head unit update via my iPhone cellular/Bluetooth link but again I simply don't use it on the car or phone. I wish I had never installed it...
I have my Iphone connecting via blue tooth. The incoming caller is displayed on the car screen and I occasionally use the buttons on the steering wheel to answer the call. To play music from the phone I select Bluetooth audio on the car. I found the cars voice reconnection unusable. I had a guy at work, say he could hook two phones to Etunes at one time. He went on to say it was far better than the electronics in his new GMC truck. So other than the voice issue what's the problems you have?
Knock on wood but Pandora, Slacker, iHeart Radio have all worked great for me on Entune. I have enjoyed them a great deal (iPhone 5 user here).
Yep. Tried out their 1.21.58. Still same junk I have reverted to 1.19.50 and seems to be least crappy version..
What I've seen it does, I think. It notifies you there is a system software upgrade available. I've done a few of the upgrades. I normally do them because of bug fixes and improvements. Normally I wait a few months before doing the upgrade.
You mean updates to the car's operating system, or the Entune app series in the JBL head unit? If it's to the apps, I've never once used one and don't care about them. When I deleted Entune, I took it off my iPhone.
Entune updates only update the entune apps. The firmware/OS updates for the head unit can be done by a dealer or anyone with the 2nd level techinfo subscription. You download it and put it on a USB. There have been several updates for our radio. You can view your update history in settings on the car and it views each update you've installed and when you click details you can see the changes. Unlike everyone else in this thread I like entune and absolutely hate using my phone in the car. For pandora it's either entune or no pandora at all. I don't want to even take my phone out of my pocket in the car, too distracting. I certainly don't want to unlock it every time I want to change stations or thumbs up/down a song when I can do it in less than 1 second from the car touchscreen. Alas, I do have the same issue as OP in spotty signal. It is unfortunate as 2015 non-premium NAV handle do it better. You could go through the entune app on your phone, OR you could set up a standard tether if your plan supports tethering, no app required to even be installed. Tethering worked 100% of the time, the only problem being that when you utilized an entune app it took like 6 seconds to connect to the personal hotspot, but once it did it stayed connected for all entune apps. The thing that sucks the most about this system is if you lose signal during specific situations the entune app logs you out!! You have to retype your email and password! If it didn't do this it would be perfect.
