Bumper scratches - how to repair/replace?

When it all comes down to it................Its just a car, smudges,smears,bumps,holes, road dirt are going to proliferate no matter how much care you observe. Accept it with equanimity. And think about, how lucky you are. You could have been born 200 years ago. Or in USSR in 1920, or in Germany in 1922.

 

So glad I found this thread. Backed into a small pole and have a cut in the bumper of my BP PiP. I will fill it and paint it, should be decent enough for a $40 solution. I ordered that Applied Colors kit. I will follow up with before and after once I get the time to fix it.

 

You probably already know this, but be sure you get a flexible filler instead of standard autobody filler.

 

The kit comes with their "Wizard" filler.

 

You mean hide the problem without fixing it? Then Romney is the right choice.

 

Is it possible that a bumper cover will cover scratches and small dents? They aren't very expensive.

If not, are Prius bumpers similar enough that it would be possible to get a used replacement from the junkyard and have it installed? What might be the chances of finding one that isn't damaged and fits? My Prius is black and there are black Priuses everywhere.

 

All it takes is one parallel parker bumping into you, and you've got a fresh set of license plate bolt impressions in the "bumper". I would just let them accumulate for a while, at least there's no rust issues.
