Battery smell solved!

    No, sorry. Enlist a friend to drive you, or take transit or cab? Or maybe you can open it up enough to get a measurement, then button up to drive?

    There may actually be a thread here with specifics, I believe someone outlined step-by-step a while back.

    Drogheda established 1412 AD?

    Considering how many GEN 3 HV batteries I've disassembled, and not one of them has the rubber vent tubes installed, why not just remove them? The gen 3 modules still have the attachment points, but NO rubber tubes.

    Personally, if they smelled that bad, I'd just leave them removed. As I said, I've not yet seen a Gen 3 battery that has them installed. Considering the original poster stated (in his link) that he purposely uses his fingers to test for live 120vac, 240vac, etc circuits, and was happy to jam his fingers across 90vdc worth of battery modules to prove his point, I'm surprised he didn't use that as his solution.

    And...for anyone that read that link in the first post, please don't follow his examples. He appears very knowledgeable. If he is truly a professional, it was extremely irresponsible of him and shows a real disregard for safety. If he's an amateur, it shows being knowledgeable doesn't make you smart. Anyone doing that on any jobsites I've been involved with would be quickly unemployed. Whether you're a professional or amateur, careless habits such as he described lead to injuries and fatalities. I've seen people take horrific shocks. I've also seen fingers practically blown off by 480vac circuits. Do not use your fingers (or any other body part) to test for live voltage. Do you stick your hand in a radiator fan to see if its turning? If common sense doesn't apply, Darwin eventually wins.

    If you really want to replace the vent tubes, I'm sure ebay has dozens available.

    I think the pipe should be 10x14mm instead of 14x10mm or I'm wrong? Because I can't find many of 14x10

    From various mentions in that post, sounds like the Inside Diameter of the tubing is 6 mm or 1/4". He mentions 6 mm end caps, and using a 1/4" wooden dowel as backer, when drilling holes in the tubing at vent locations.

    10x14mm means 10 inside diameter and 14 means oustide diameter. 6mm is the battery tubing :D

    I would measure, figure out some alternative transportation, be certain what you're dealing with.

    For measurements I need to disassemble everything so that not the best choice when it's only transport I have :)

    OK. The tube isn't really a tube. It's more shaped like a D with the flat side having the holes for vents. The overall height is about 17.3 mm. (from the flat side to top of arch) The width is about 15.2mm. The holes are 6.9mm with about a 41mm center to center. The opening where it connects to the hard plastic tube is ~12.5mm. Overall length is ~565mm on one and about 545mm on the other.

    I would locate the holes by as direct a method as possible. Say do the two end holes first, push the tube onto those vents, then mark all the intermediate holes using vents to locate.

    Timur did you ever find out where to purchase the replacement tubes? I have the same exact issue that you experienced.
