Hi folks, my 2013 Prius II is only 8 months old to me, and is making this rhythmic creaking sound all of a sudden! When brakes are applied at low speed, seems to be coming from the rear wheel, passenger side. I hope that works... This car only has 30,000K on it, and was purchased Toyota certified. I don't want to drive it if I'm going to damage it. I'll call my dealer when they open, but I'm two hours away working in the city, and trying to determine if I should take it to a Toyota dealer in the city before going on the highway. Any advice appreciated.
I did search this topic, and found others discussing it but nothing conclusive or helpful to me in my situation. Thanks!
That's the wear indicators rubbing on the rotors on the back brakes I just went through that with my 2010 a month ago. You need new pads.
By the way if it is the pads you need know why they wore out at 30000 miles there's a problem there somewhere.
