Just got the survey from Toyota. I'm obviously very happy with all the features in my Advanced trim line. I have had no real issues and other than the annoying Reverse Beep which I took care of, but dealer offered to change for me if I dropped off the car for a few hours, I have no real complaints. It does ask what new features would you like. Carplay ( or for you Android users Android Auto). Also, maybe a slightly longer EV life. Mind you I'm happy, but more is better IMO. I'm sure technology will evolve and in 4-5 years, 75 may be the norm. I also complained about the Lane Departure. IMO it's way to sensitive. They are doing a lot of construction around me, so the lanes are kind of screwed up and somewhat narrow, but it goes off a heck of a lot more than it should while I'm in my lane. It goes against it's own directions and if the lane is to narrow it shouldn't work, but obviously it thinks it should! So I think they should improve it, I like the feature mind you just hope it gets better in the next iteration. I know it's kind of spur of the moment thing that I did the survey, and I wish I had thought of other things, but what would you guys want ADDED?
Things that could be added: 1) Solar panels or solar energy collectors to keep car cooled when in the sun. 2) Addition of current Odo reading to Entune app. This is to check my mileage travelled for business during the day. 3) Extension of ChargePoint term to 1 year, to allow users to find/use stations. 4) Driver-controlled outdoor beepers for navigating in densely Presbyterianized parking lots! 5) Much smaller variant of Prime Advanced, 2 door, much lighter w/carbon fiber (1800Lb), 2-seater with same drivetrain. This hatchback sportscar would be ecologically responsible and tons of fun!! Imagine the range and performance!!. I'll put in my order today! 6) Option to integrate 3rd party GPS systems(Garmin), rather than factory GPS. 7) I know friends who'd love a Prime pickup truck! Contractors able to plug-in power tools into traction battery-supplied A/C current. The sky's the limit with Prime: aircraft?? .
solar panels!!!! forgot about those. I know they wouldn't have been cheap, but I would hope they could be used to charge up the battery! I know the old Prius had a variant with them. But I believe it was just for the cooling fan?
Other than fixing some software bugs in the Prius Prime, the main thing I'd want new is a 7-seat version of the V in "Prime" form. The next version needs the battery under the rear seat, probably a 5th seat (I could have sold one yesterday to someone if it had a fifth seat - doesn't matter to me) and improved software. Mechanically (and electrically), the car is amazing.
Ditto. Most things I dislike about the car stem from it being 2' longer than my previous car. It's huge.
Woman, you are SO on the money! It seems that nobody complains about the huge size of the Prius; if you check out a 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV, you will see what I mean by a nice-sized car. Don't you think that a 2-door, 2+2 sports car with the drivetrain, fit and finish, and reliability of the Prime wouldn't make a fantastic sports car!! My 1969 GTV 1750 Turbo (weighed 2300 Lbs). Sold because of divorce!! A 2+2 coupe makes sense if you just have to have room for stray guests; otherwise, a two-seat hatchback with lots of rear storage like my 2005 Honda Insight hybrid coupe makes total sense as a body configuration. .
I had heard that Tesla does regular software updates and provides them to previous owners as they make improvements to the car. It would be great if Toyota did that as I expect the 2018 and 2019 models will be improved. I can't think of a logical reason the backup camera image only fills the top third of the screen or why the entune system is so lame or why there are no tie downs in the trunk. Expect these will be fixed in the near future.
There are fold down tie downs in the trunk of my Prime Advanced. It would be nice to be able to run Google from the voice command in my Prime Advanced. Maybe we will get an update!! . Janice, What was your previous car? .
But it's not like they are the most useful hooks, they are too low to really help IMO. I swapped the trunk light to an LED, now it's a LIGHT!
Just completed the survey, so I included solar panels among other minor complaints. Generally very happy with the car, but there's always room for improvement...
I don't have mine yet, so I can't speak from genuine experience... ...so, without getting at ALL "technical" (and I simply KNOW that I'll be in the minority here), I'd like Toyota to make interior FABRIC choices a standard feature for ALL levels of the Prime... and maybe at least one additional "choice" in both fabric and SofTex. I'm thinking Toyota's so-called "Harvest Beige" fabric would look AWESOME with Blizzard Pearl or Blue Magnetism Primes... and I for one would DEFINITELY consider paying that extra $400 for the Blizzard Pearl IF it could be had with that light-brownish fabric interior....
I like that one too! Here you have me dreaming about my next prime when I don't even have my first one yet! (10 days away supposedly...) You can't forget good suspension for cornering ability on that "Prime Sport".
Sorry I got the whole set of replacement lights as a set on eBay. It was like under $10 shipped. If I recall the only "odd" bulb was the dome light which is the double ended. They did bundle the map lights separately, so those two are more directional if that makes sense. (Changing those was Pain in the ...., watch the vids on youtube!) You won't believe how much brighter they are, with less power. If you want to switch them, spend the few bucks on the right tools to remove the plastic lenses. Don't want to scratch or crack them. Sorry for the tangent!
Well the DeDion transaxle containing a 5 speed like my Milano Verde, with inboard disc brakes, front engine, rear traction battery would be super. Alfa Romeo design inspiration with Toyota materials and execution using carbon fiber monocoque structure to keep the weight super low!! All this operating as a Prime Advanced power plant, owww, be still my heart, my checkbook is out with my golden pen!!. I would prefer the 5 speed, but at gunpoint would settle for the CVT tranny! Come on Toyota make my dream come true!! .
