Installing dash cam behind rear view mirror?

    Yes, I have the powered mirror in my Four. It also has Homelink, which also requires power. The unswitched 12v lead is likely for the Homelink, since it works when the ignition is off.

    Removing the console will definitely reveal the 3 wire harness, that plugs into the rear of what is probably the Homelink antenna, which is mounted on the windshield.
