USB memory

I haven't tried using my thumb drive yet but I think the instructions say it will only see that 270 or so per folder so maybe if you break down your collection into folders with 265 or so per folder, you may be able to cycle through them. Like I said, I haven't tried this yet myself.

Use the search tool, there is at least one thread in this forum that covers this subject in deep.

 

Nothing in this digital world is limited to 270 or 265. The common limits in this neighborhood are 256, 255, or very slightly less.

 

My 2012 has two manuals, one for the car, a separate one for the display audio system. Did you check both? And any more added for 2017?

Mine counts tracks by adding together everything it can see in multiple folders, but no more than 255 files per folder.. Do you have more than one folder?

There are other restrictions too, including limited file formats. But I'd hope that your Gen4 recognizes a wider selection than my Gen3.

Not a true statement.......because you have no way of knowing that.
Unless you have personally tested out EVERY digital device ever made and is still in use; millions and millions.

I understand what you are trying to say but that isn't the right way to say it.

 

Is this better?:

"Almost nothing in this digital world is limited to 270 or 265. "

 

For clarification, I was SO frustrated with this. Only about 250 or so songs can be on a single folder. So I made a lot of folders alphabetically.
