Hello. I just got a 2017 Prius Prime and love it. My place of work allows me to plug in for free. But the charge port is a "Hubbell Twist Lock" 125V, 20A outlet. So the charger cord that came with the car doesn't fit it. Any idea where I could get a good cable that fits this type of outlet? Thanks!
Just googled it and my local Home Depot has about 33 of them in stock. It's just an adapter that you need. I'd just double check it's of good quality to handle the Amps, which this one seems to check out okay. RIDGID 3-Prong to Twist-Lock Adaptor-AW62659 - The Home Depot
I believe what you need is a 5-15r to L5-20p adapter cord or adapter plug. "google" it or go to any good hardware store and you should find something to solve your problem.
My advice, use an adopter plug and do not replace the cord or cut the plug and replace it. Your EVSE has a special protection against plug/outlet excessive temp. rise, this includes a thermistor embedded into the stock plug, without it - the EVSE will not work and will give you an error message!
The one I posted earlier is such an adapter; The 110v Toyota EVSE will plug into the adapter, and then the other side of the adapter will "twist" lock into the 20 amp receptacle. You can also get the adapter that is built into a short cord like this.
That socket is also commonly called inductrial safety twist-lock type. We are required to us only those type. Our maintenance electricians and tool crib give them out. LG-H918 ?
