Let's say you arrived home Friday night with battery empty, and you know you won't drive it over the weekend. Then do you charge it to full on Friday night or Sunday night? How about you know you won't drive it for a week or a month? Better to leave it full, half full, or empty?
The car won't let you leave full or empty. It has reserves for both, so you don't need to worry about it.
The terms full/empty are used also by Toyota, and they know about the reserves... If you worry about battery longevity and intend to keep the car for many years, it is better not to leave the battery full for extended periods of time. Toyota does not recommend leaving it full even for short periods if the car is left under direct sun in a hot summer day.
