Stephen I think I got a Facebook ad from Rudy Luther that they had one for sale - a premium. The EV owners cruise around that area - the first Friday of each month I think. I'd bring my Prime this Friday except I'm in Paris right now. :)

I saw one in Jackson MS yesterday, if even backwards Mississippi has a Prime, they must exist in normal states.

I've seen about one out of every dozen or so people give my Prime more than a glance. Oddly most Prius drivers on the road seem oblivious to it but parked I've had a few prii appear to deliberately park next to me and a few other hybrids.

It's funny.. through the years I've worked occasionally at the various studio lots around LA, and when the Prius first came out, it was "the" car for everyone at the studio to have, because it was so environmentally friendly. The lots were full of them. Then the Tesla became "the" car to have, and studio lots were full of Model Ss everywhere.

Now there are a lot more choices for environmentally-friendly cars, so besides the Prius and Tesla, you see everything from an occasional Honda Clarity (haven't seen a Mirai yet on a lot, though I see them on the freeway) to EVs from BMW, Fiat, Nissan, and other makers. But the one thing I haven't seen yet... is another Prime.

Today I was on one of the lots again (one of the large studios) and noticed that besides the Tesla, BMW, Nissan and Fiat EVs, and normal Priuses, just how many Volts there were. Dozens of them, everywhere, especially (though not exclusively) on the floor where all the chargers were. Seemed literally like a Volt showroom. But not one Prime yet. Perhaps because the Volt has been around for a while now (with Gen 1 and Gen 2 of the Volt) whereas the Prime is only about a half-a-year old. Still, surprising to see not one Prime yet (other than mine) against a sea of Volts, Teslas, regular Priuses, and (to a lesser extent) BMWs, Nissan, and Fiat EVs. I don't know whether to feel sad, or glad that I'm "special"... :)

(Though did notice one Prime driving home on the 405, same color as mine, too...)

Are the dealers discounting them out there? The dealer by me has only three left and they're still taking $2500 off the price.

I have yet to see a Prime at a dealership or anywhere in the wild. I have also never seen a Gen 4 in the wild either. Just the occasional Gen 2 and a lot of Gen 3s.

However, I have seen one Niro and one Ioniq out in the wild. Both of those took me by surprise.

Maybe even the movie stars are stuck waiting for their Primes to be delivered.

"Leo here. What do you mean it's not even on the ship yet?"

I very much doubt that anyone realizes it is a Prius. I have had many people ask me what kind of car I was driving. Everyone is quite taken with the styling. Only one person, however, asked if I was driving a Prius, and that was only because he saw the "Plug-in Hybrid" tag on the side of the car. From the rear the Prime can be mistaken for a gen 4 liftback. Indeed, one coworker claimed that he was seeing quite a few cars "like mine." When I told him he was wrong, he bet $5 there were and went off and took a picture of the rear of a car that turned out to be a gen 4 liftback. (I never did get my $5.) From the front, however, you would never know the car was a Prius.

I don't think I've seen any but a co-worker that got me into the prime commutes to JFK from NJ daily.
Mine is easy to spot, I backed up into my pickup truck. That stupid incessant beeping distracted me and before I knew it... CRUNCH!!
So if you're in the Philly area and see a red prime with a driver's side turn signal that appears to be flopping around in the bumper it's probably me.
Dealer wants $455 so I'll wait until it stops working or they make an aftermarket light, whichever comes first.

Ouch! I know it's a little late now, but you know your Toyota dealer can disable the multiple-beeping on Reverse (to where it does just one beep). I had them do it (it's a quick fix) because it annoyed me as well. There are also phone apps and adapters you can buy to do it yourself, but if it's just the reverse beep, your Toyota dealer can do it for you...

you have to buy an OBD adapter first, I got the Carista one ($40 from Amazon) and you get 30 day free use of the app ... there are many more settings to change, there are a couple threads describing all of it

I just got back from Paris. I had been tasked with spotting a Prime while there. I failed, of course, but I did take a picture of curbside charging opportunities in front of our building.

Other apps will use the Carista adapter as well, but the Carista app itself give a lot of customization functions not available on other apps. If you're willing to rent software. If you could buy the software, I'd be all over that one.

I live in New Jersey and purchased a Silver Prime Advanced back in December. I was likely one of the first people in northern NJ to purchase one. Since that time (some 5 or so months), I have seen five other Primes in the wild. I saw two in Manhattan, NY, one in Massachusetts (on I-95, just north of the border with Rhode Island), and two in northern NJ. Last week I made the round-trip drive between NJ and St. Louis, MO. The entire time I did not see any other Primes.

As for turning heads...I have gotten looks from three or fours other Prius (non-Prime) owners. One guy in a Prius purposely slowed down as I was entering the street from a parking lot to allow me to get on the street in front of him. People are rarely this polite in northern NJ. As I drove out in front of him, he gave me a thumbs up. This made it clear that he recognized the Prime and wanted to see what the rear of the Prime looked like. Once I was in front of his vehicle I looked i my rear view mirror and saw him nodding his head and pointing as he spoke to the passenger seated next to him. Additionally, on my commute back to NJ from ST. Louis, a woman at a rest stop turned around to look at the front of the car. She immediately grabbed her husbands arm and made him turn around so that he could look too.

I wonder if we will start to see Prime taxis. Of course it would depend on whether they have a place to charge. I don't remember seeing any BEV taxis in Manhattan last time I was there but I would guess there are some.

I saw one in early April on the Thruway on the way to Niagara Falls. Other than that, it's almost impossible to even see one at a dealer in my area. Most everyone has one, or zero.

I bought a Blue Magnetism in May and if it turns out to be the hot color around here, I know it should be at least 6 months before I see them everywhere!
