    Blue is my Prime.

Red will be my wife's (delivery within the next week).

We stand out in the crowd anyway, that couple having way more fun than everyone else... and you wonder why.

I ordered the titanium glow, but after 4 months I told them that I would take any color advanced model as long as it had the black interior. They came up with a silver advanced with the moon interior. I reluctantly rejected it, not knowing when I might have the chance for another. Within three days they came up with a red advanced with a black interior. I absolutely love it.
I have been driving all over the east coast and have yet to see another Prime. Anyone out there see another on the road?

Yes, it does help a lot - with both the heat and glare. I love the tint; glad I went with 50%. I don't care for the limo look.

Not many people in Minnesota here, but I'd highly recommend the guy I used. And at $280, I thought it was very reasonable.

Check the GSP between 5-6 AM and 3-4 PM, I'm there. :D Anyways, congrats on your new Prime. I've only seen 2 so far and one of them twice. (y)

Prime 1 in 4X6 size.jpg My red Prime Premium arrived last Thursday, May 25th. I ordered it March 6th, about 3 days after Toyota in Washington State was told they could take orders. I really like this shade of red, kind of reminds me of candy apple red paint jobs on hot rods around when I was growing up in the 1950s and 60s. I'll try to put in a photo but will have to edit it to a smaller file size first.

I wanted the white blizzard because it was an extra cost color. And, I like white or silver because they don't get so hot sitting in the sun and don't show dirt so easily. In 1999 I bought a new Toyota Tacoma that came with an extra cost paint (metallic green). It has been parked outside the last eighteen years and the paint is still almost perfect. (I wash it about every 3 months) My assumption is that if you pay a little more for paint that it will last longer. I may be wrong, because I really don't know why they charge more for that color.

My salesman told me these special colors are hand painted at the factory. I don't know if this is true or not but it could explain why there is a higher cost. Perhaps there is more time and effort put into it than there is on the regular production line.

Don't know if it is true for the Prime, but the "Oyster White" on the PiP was extra charge since there are more layers of paint. At least, that is what knowledgeable users on the PiP forum said.

On a car produced on a production line? It is NOT hand painted.

Blizzard Pearl and hypersonic red are 3-coat paints.

BP has a base white and a pearlescent coat.

HR has a base red and a titanium oxide reflective layer

The third coat in both is the clearcoat

Finally the Prius Plugin aka Prius Prime has arrived in my country, only a trim available, equipped with solar roof, but with pretty basic interiors (fabric black upholstery, no power seats nor HUD).

However, I am seriously considering it, in the light of the promotional price (around 35000 € instead of the regular 41000 ) and of the 10 years of warranty on the hybrid parts, both offered for orders made by the end June only. But...the color choice is very limited, only five colors, and my preferred one (light grey) is not among them, which are: Super White, Dark Grey, Aqua Met, Emotional Red and Pearl White.

I am considering a) Super White (well, all the taxi here are withe, and most of them are Priuses... I see high risk of misunderstandings) and b) Dark Grey (a bit too dark for my tastes, but I could live with it), I am also tempted by c) Emotional Red which incidentally is the only color which comes for free... Never had a red car, though... the Emotional Red e would be opalescent like the Pearl White.. does it mean that it reflects better the sunlight?

Wow. Red is free in Italy and extra cost here in the US. I doubt they paint them any differently in Japan where they are built. I love my red, even though it was extra. Ah, marketing.

The tint on my Glow is called medium by my shop (I'm in Southern California) and the only trouble I have with viewing the screen is caused by the regular buildup of dust from static. !!

Thanks for your input re: your experience with viewing the screen and potential glare issue. (SHARP-lookin' Prime, by the way!) If we EVER get ours, I might have to look into getting ours tinted... depending, of course on this backward state's laws/regs/limits/etc in such matters!

We just got our Prime(Advanced), in Blue Magnetism. It was the only color my wife liked (and it's her car, so she should have the color she likes). I would have been just as happy with red (the color of my previous 2010) or Blizzard pearl (the color of my present 2015).

I chose Blizzard Pearl - for practical reasons: visibility and Heat reflection.
But once got the car. I really liked the color choice

I instantly loved the Blue Magnetism, but was afraid I might get tired of it. Prime is sharp in red, but I've had 2 red cars already. My 2011 was Blizzard Pearl. Too many gray and silver cars around here. So I went for the blue, with black interior. Definitely my color.

I didnt have much of a choice. My dealer has only received 2 primes so far. I was guaranteed second in line for the first, an advanced white with moonstone which is what i wanted. But the fist in line customer bought it though they wanted blue with black. Then my dealer wasnt sure when the next one would arrive. I wasnt in any hurry to get one. Then a month later they call and tell me a blue with black advanced is coming and i have first choice. I wasnt sure about the blue as i have had a black '10 a black '11 and a white '13. I was leaning toward the white again as im not sure about the floating roof theme and black tint would tie the windows togother. I went out to see it and drove it and liked it. I have been getting many compliments for the color. I think it needs a set of good looking wheels now. I believe it is the only one in town as that first white one hasnt been seen.
