Yes, I do a fair amount of driving-- 9,561 miles in 60 days. I can confirm that the Prime is a very nice ride as many of you have shared. I have driven it in many weather conditions (snow, rain, strong winds, fog, heat, etc.), using various vehicle settings (EV, HV, EV auto, etc.), on a variety of terrains and road conditions (gravel, pot hole filled, steep mountains, dirt, etc.), and speeds (bumper to bumper, cross-country highway speeds). I have enjoyed my driving experiences, but most importantly, I have found this forum to be very helpful in fully understanding and benefiting from all of the featured designs as part of this ride. Thanks for ALL the help!!
Are you a field service engineer for a national company? I wish I had this car when I worked for Toshiba America Medical Systems way back in 1978
I will catch up to you by 90 days in a few weeks. I must concur with all of your comments about the Prime. I am able to get crazy fuel economy if I try. For me, poor fuel economy is 60 mpg, and good is 80-100. My only complaint is that it keeps getting dirty. This forum has been invaluable since before I purchased it. Twice now I have used less than 1 gallon of gas to travel 125 miles. Try that in any other car with over 600 miles of range.
Yes, the chore of keeping it clean is the same as with any other car. I understand that the self-cleaning edition does not come out for a few years LOL.
My wife and I have driven ours 10.5k in a little less than 6 months. I say the same. The community of PC has been invaluable in all aspects of driving Prius. Particularly, I thank to those who are engineers who keep us reminded how important it is to learn from evidence-based knowledge which may be counter intuitive at times. I've thought PIP was grossly under estimated car in general public. I hope Prime would not follow the same path. As to the cleaning, I tell my wife that the dirt will protect the paint and keep the car shaded from the sun. Evidence? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yes, we should do some research on this to see if it might be true LOL, but I do like a clean car. As to the cleaning, I tell my wife that the dirt will protect the paint and keep the car shaded from the sun.
