Did 3 things today on my car, called in sick because I am sick of my car looking naked so I did tint, brake mode and side marker.
Took 3.5 hours using dremel slicing disc and carbide burr for smoothing and finishing.
Flat Side marker is JDM aftermarket one for S2000.
Did this too to my 2015 Prius now on my 4 touring I really like this mode always ON when on Park light so extra visibility for other motorist.

And new tint using Sungard rebrand to Madico which is a competitor to 3m tint in Asia.

Added 3rd brake light strobe mod to alert distracted drivers using their phone or doing their make up on the freeway.

I agree! I would really like some more details of where the wiring goes for the side markers, not sure if I'd really want to cut into the car, but this is really cool!

Plus, I see you are in the SF area, where did you get your windows tinted and roughly how much was it?

    Great stuff!

Grizzly style, I did my 2015 Prius on the attach photo (main post) back then I paid $25 for all set, that one was easy didn'tt even use a heat gun, back in Asia me and my friend use to have a car shop that does modding on car like side fender, we do have employees, never work there on the shop but I see everyday what employee does so it's kinda easy for me to do this, and in Asia we have rainy season every year like 4-5months non stop rain, we never had any complain about cutting fenders getting rusted, just have to seal it nicely with epoxy primer. But when I saw this 4th gen Prius windshield back glass and windows I know this is a hard install because I see some employee sometimes messing with curve windows once in a while and they do tint like 6-14 cars a day so I don't want to mess with this curve glass we have so I went to Grizzly Style South SF, before I called them they quoted me like $350 for Sungard Madico, called my friend he refered me and they gave me $280 front back so I know it's a smoking deal with lifetime warranty with the card and warranty is not just his shop, as long as a shop does Madico tint, they will honor the warranty. Check photo I attached. So if you want to go there to get a good deal message me so I can call him so you get same price, we talk about it already if I bring a friend it's gonna be the same price, call him first by yourself and see how much he quote you then message me if you can't get $280 2 guys did it for 2hrs and some and gave me a Grizzly Cap.

This one install is super easy like 30mins or less just hook to 3rd brake light wiring it has instruction it has different modes:
Brake Modulator with 10 Patterns! Universal Magic Strobes Brake Light Flasher

There are $10 cheap ones gs-100s Amazon but the flash sucks imo, 3 super quick light folllowed by 2 slow blink and then steady which is cop magnet to me, one I bought by a flip of switch you can go back to stock and some other preset flash.

Great information, I may opt to do that, a little harder to reach SSF during the work week for me.

In regards to the side light markers, how hard was it to run wiring to the appropriate places? Did you go to the interior fuse box or just splice into the front turn signals, it seems like your are alternating with front turn signal lights, so something special is happening

In your video you do ask about the mirror turn signal lights, sadly I don't see any US vehicles with it, but its STANDARD in the Europe I believe which is really weird.

There was a thread here about it
Side mirror turn signal lights | PriusChat

    For the rear light:
Did you wire the modulator at the back light gate area, popping off the plastic panel?

Yes just pull all plastic panel on the back for the brake.

Side fender just need to tap one wire on signal light and one on the park light that's it .

Do you have any pics of the process? Just curious of the actual locations of the taps and where you routed the wiring? I presume you didn't pull off the side fender, did you have fish the wire through or something?

Fender drilling is not hard, first you need to do square using cutting disc, then use carbide burr to do the rest, you cannot make mistake here because it does not cut quick, you are dealing with metal so everything cut slowly take your time make sure you have the right amount of speed, slow speed will result to throwing your burr to the side it is turning, so use high speed setting, I bought this rotary tool on Walmart:
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-106-Piece-Rotary-Tool-Kit/39590574

Still does the same as good quality dremel rotary tool. Do not use the cutting disc that the tool from Walmart, because you can see it is cheap and it does not have thread to hold the disc incase it cut in half so it will probably go into you eye. Instead buy this one it will fit the rotary tool from Walmart, most rotary tool are universal, this link comes with protector to protect not just your eye but your face even it is not worth protecting, do it.
Dremel A550 Shield Rotary Attachment Kit

And the side fender I use is this:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/291379715449

I use this on my 2015 prius, this does not turn yellowish we use this same exact type of fender marker in Asia you can use OEM genuine s2000 side marker it's on Amazon but I like flat.

Remember you only need to do it once and then you can enjoy it until you sell the car. I have no idea why this is not standard here in US because this is a protection too so the vehicle on your Blindspot can see if you are going to change lane he can alert you.

Wiring like I said tap one on park light and one from the turn signal. To be honest I don't know I just test test before I tape it hehe.
Goodluck it's fun doing your own car because you are in control.

Probably doing this again will be super easy because I know everything already not like when I did it.

    JayLn,
Which one is the power wire? Blue or white, did you tap it to make the wire connection longer and cut the pin connector ? Thanks

Don't cut, just open the rubber and connect a longer wire, I am not sure but I think both positive, because both negative will not power a bulb, just remove the signal and the main headlight harness and test, there are six wires on the headlight test test using the side marker bulb if you test this way you won't burn anything just don't use led to test connection.

I bought 4 spdt relay. I will try to place 2 relay per side this the proper wiring for this.
I attached my relay setup please anyone correct me if there is any thing wrong with the set up thanks

PS I forgot to tell that both 30 on 1st and 2nd relay should be fix connect too. And this diagram is just for one side only and the same diagram should be install on the other side.

Edited: something wrong with my relay wiring can anyone correct it please problem here is when park light is ON signal light will stay ON too instead of breaking it.

Remove the back panel, you can not install it by just unscrewing the two screws of the 3rd brake light, please post video after thanks

This is exactly what I have on my 2015 Prius before I got pulled over 3x on this, one cop car let me go, two cop car gave me fix it ticket. Because too much blink going on annoys them may be, this one I have is adjustable so far they don't care I tested this on every cop car when they are behind me I try to brake a lot lol. But may be where you are is Okay, here SFPD is so bored because not so much thing to do they see every tiny bit of things new hehe.

So far, most of these mods were done on sports cars (mostly the FR-S because there's a space there for the rear foglight in other countries so owners here have used that space for a 4th brake light).

They install a rear foglight and strobe that instead of the factory 3rd brake light. That way, it's lower on the car (it's basically at the same height as the mufflers) so it's not in your face but the rapid flash will still get your attention.

Does this strobe effect happen every time you apply the brakes or only under emergency braking situation? If it happens every time you break it would drive me crazy if I was sat behind you in queuing traffic.
