Interesting. I was told by the CT dealer I waited over 6 months with that this state was not getting Magnetic Grey (my first choice). I assumed it was a last straw lie and I decided to get my second choice out of state in PA (under 2 weeks). So now I'm a very happy Cool Chick in my Black Prius!

 

Skin color on outside.....I have never looked "inside"!

Yes, interesting. When did you place the local order? I had no trouble requesting Magnetic Gray last month. May I ask what dealer?

Black is awesome and would have loved it myself, but as you can see in my siggy below, I already have a black truck and had a black Grand Cherokee before that. Magnetic Gray is as dark as I'm willing to go.

Now, did you have any problems taking delivery out of state? No problems with the CT 6% state tax waiver? When did you get it?

I'd consider going out of state if it comes down to taking delivery by end of September, but otherwise not in a rush as I'm already driving one.

 

Mine is Barcelona Red with a Gray interior. I didn't give the dealer a second choice as my wife and I didn't want any other color. We got the car 4 weeks later, about a month ago.

Supposedly 80% of the barcelona red cars come with the tan interior and "I was going to have a long wait", but I clearly didn't.

I truly wanted a Magnum RT in Black. But I bought a Black Prius with a Grey interior. It looks great, but shows the tiniest dust particle, scratch and waterspot. It is also hot, hot, hot even with the tinted windows. Would have got the RT if I had an extra $5k a year for gas. I figured I would rather surf Indonesia every year then race of the line and do burnouts.
The white is the best choice for maintenance and resale. I think with a window tint you'll have a cool car.

My wife always gets white vehicles and I would have insisted on package 8. When the only one in the lot was a Super White/grey package 8 it was a no brainer. Did you get the tint-I heard it really sets off the white nicely. We plan to do that.
BTW we have a lot in common-my other car is an LX as well. Chrysler 300C SRT-8, Silver.

 

Seaside w/ gray interior. I had two color choices - blue or red (but wanted the grey interior for sure). During my 6 mo. wait, I kept waffling back & forth on which one was my first choice because I liked them both so much. Anyway, the final time I called the dealer to change my color choice, they said they had my name on a blue one, so that was that! Done deal!

I thought I ordered the dark grey interior; I think I actually got the lighter gray, but since I haven't seen any with dark grey, I'm not sure. I wasn't going to pass up the car for that since I was so excited it was finally here!

 

2005 Millenium Silver exterior, grey interior with dark burgundy accent/trim

2nd choice, wanted the Driftwood Pearl

2006 Black exterior, bisque leather interior. It was my first (and only) choice and I would've waited even longer than the 5.5 months that I waited in order to have it.

My previous car, an old Saturn, was black with tan cloth interior and I really loved the color combo and wanted to get it for my Prius too. LOVE it. :wub:

Just as hot as any other car (no matter the color) in the SoCal sun. My husband has a light blue/grey Accord and I've found that the Prius is not any hotter on the inside while out in the sun than his car is...I have tinted windows too.

 

I ordered my 05' Salsa Red the day my wife picked up her Black 04' I told the salesman not even to call me until they had a Salsa ready for me. I waited 8 months for it BUT I was driving my 03' Prius until it came in and sold 03' Silver to my mother.

 

Classic silver metallic with dark grey interior.

It was my first choice, but to be honest, I think I would have preferred the magnetic grey -- I haven't actually seen magnetic grey so I wasn't sure. I went with silver because at I had seen it and it looked good compared to the other ones I saw, and it reflects heat.

The silver is fine but a little too light for my liking. At some angles it almost looks white. I would have preferred something with a little more color depth, more like a pewter. Also, as several people have pointed out, there are too many silver cars out there. I do like the grey fabric interior though. Even though my last car (96 Infiniti I30) had leather seats and I generally prefer leather, I am quite happy with these seats because the fabric is soft and smooth -- almost like chamois -- unlike the cheap rough fabric of economy cars. (A few months ago I had driven a rental Corolla while on a business trip and absolutely hated it.) I had seen the bisque fabric in other Prii and felt that it would show dirt and look dingy after a little while.

Truthfully, I wasn't crazy about any of the color choices. I have not seen the silver pine mica but I don't think I would have liked that very much, although it's unusual. I definitely did not like the super white, the seaside pearl, or the driftwood pearl (which I could have bought for $450 under MSRP). The barcelona is nice but for some reason I have a prejudice against red cars and I thought there was too much contrast between the red and the large bright taillights. I've always liked black, but it gets too hot. In my opinion, other manufacturers seem to have better color choices, including more interesting variations of silver.

 

i got a barcellona red metallic w/ grey leather interior. the dash and door trim has a weird texture, but cleans easily w/ a swiffer. my first choice was the magnetic grey, but i hadn't seen one yet. i do love the red though, i have never had a red car before.

 

Magnetic Gray exterior and Gray interior. I don't think I would have choose this, but I'm glad in hindsight that I didn't have the choice!

 

Seaside Pearl with Bisque fabric interior. VERY HAPPY!!!! Would have also been happy with Seaside/Gray combo.

We got ours in June 2006. We ordered the Silver Pine Mica (package3) with the bisque cloth seating. I really wanted the grey cloth but had to compromise. It took 5 weeks from date of order. Where are all the Silver Pine Mica's? Haven't seen too many on here? If I haven't posted this right have pitty I am an old women lol

My first choice would have been Super White with grey interior, which the dealer also had! But, for 5k more (it had the SKS system in it), I passed on it.

I hear the Smart Key System is great, but I really don't need it.

The Silver Pine Mica looks great! And it's hard to tell when it is dirty. B)

Jimmy, I have the Smart key system and love it. Your right about the color. I haven't had one peron yet that didn't like that color.
Also, if you have kids or grandkids you can have a lot of fun with the smart key. I told my 7yr. grandchild to try to open the drivers door and she couldn't open it. Of course I walked up to it and said the magic word and the door opened. (The fob was in my pocket) She still hasn't figured it out. lol
