I recently discovered that my pre-owned Prius has remote start -- all I had to do was purchase the proper remote. It works fine, but upon using the remote start, the outside marker lights come on (and I think the flashers too). Is that normal? If I'm starting the car unattended to let it heat/cool, I'd rather not advertise and draw attention to it.
The outside markers would be expected and let you know the remote start was successful. The flashers staying on (as opposed to your lights flashing once or twice) would be unusual. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
To close the loop on this ---- My DEI remote start system (don't know who branded it, it was in the car when I got it) flashes the daytime running lights, the tail lights and the dash after a remote start. These lights are all on the #15 Tail Fuse (10A) so I have run a toggle to that fuse thus permitting me to preventing this behavior when desired.
