Anyone have any idea what the part number is for the the airbag occupant sensor that goes in side the passenger seat? I can't seem to find it.
I was looking around on eBay for a seat but most are local pick up only. I bought my Prius like that last year as it just needs a new senor so I can get rid of the airbag light I've been driving it around for months like that. Part of it was a recall as the the one in the dash was replaced.
Have you tried to disconnect the airbag cable and reconnect it? Make sure nothing is loose? There could be a number of reasons for that light, not just a sensor problem, I couldn't bother figuring out, just got another seat.
Yeah I did that awhile back. Nothing changed. A Toyota Techican recently replaced a senor in the dash back in September for a recall. I have the ToyotaTech Stream software though.
It was an Airbag recall for Frontal Sensor/Control Module 2009 Toyota Prius Recalls | ToyotaProblems.com
This page shows what looks like a sensor, but it's included as part of the bottom cushion. See 71511S, NO1. Looks like about $150 new.
I may as well get a whole damn seat for that much. lol, I guess I have to keep checking around at my local savage yard. Most seats I've seen don't even match the color and material that I have. I might have to swap out the sensors if I do get another seat.
I fixed it without replacing the seat. It was a simple fix when I hooked it up to my TechStream as it turns out it was part of the recall that I just fixed my own self. It just needed to be recalibrated as I set the value to 0 and reweighed the seat, cleared the trouble code and the airbag light went out and the On and Of passenger light started working soon as I sat in the seat and buckled up. Funny that the Toyota Technician didn't fix that as i ended up doing his job that he missed. Ha Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
