I'd love to add the OEM fog lights to my car (eventhough they do not light up much of the road). I've looked thru the internet but have not found them on sale separately. Now, where may I buy these? -Alex
Maybe an auto recycling (junk) yard? If they didn't come on your package, maybe you can find some "used" ones, and the black plastic grill that goes around them. Then trick them out with some 5K super halogens for that blue/white look like the HIDs.[/font:bb1f0e4856]
What about these assemblies from cibie? I'm not sure if they would fit, but 80mm sounds right to me. The "SC Moduler" (sic) come in white, blue, and yellow. It looks like you would need a Japanese connection to buy them. [Broken External Image]:http://www.cibie.com/img/ScModuler/index/SM_index_photo01.jpg There is also an HID version that looks like it would fit, in the same three colors. Those look very hot (specially the 2nd one), but I really want to stay in the OEM world now. I've had my share of "aftermarket" products tasting and wish to keep it all OEM now.
I have been looking to do the same thing you want to do. I found some "OEM Like" grilles for my '06 prius that holds the lamps, not sure what im going to do about getting lamps, i like the idea of HID fog lights, but its pretty pricey, try looking here. I didn't get fog lights for my car, and i wish i did. i plan on putting in fog lights so maybe we should kinda "work together". its just going to be to our advantage. i got the grille pieces on order. i'll let you know how they look after i get them. If you browse the catalog, and select the drill down "B" put the car and year, you just goto grille and outer grill and then view the illistrations
Funny, because I have OEM fog lamps and wish I could have left them off and saved the money instead. They are completely useless, so they're just something that I have to worry about breaking. But you should be able to order them through pretty much any Toyota parts place. Thanks, Shawn

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Jack Straw @ Jun 27 2006, 06:46 PM) </div> heh. Not mine. My headlights are Silverstars so they're fairly white. The foglights look like street lamps in comparison. Wondered how I lived that one year with the stock bulb.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TucsonPrius @ Jun 27 2006, 08:10 PM) </div> Agree; they're worthless, I never use 'em. rpm
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(onerpm @ Jun 28 2006, 08:02 AM) </div> I use them. I hope that they help others know I am there. But you are right, compared to other OEM and after market foglamps that I have used, they are not helpful to the driver. Perhaps if i could adjust them to aim at the road edge...
...whoa, now, this tread isn't suppose to be what do you think of fog lights, i believe the orginal starter said he would like to ADD fog lights... ...so if you have information for us that "don't have fog lights and wish to get them", then we would love to hear it. we don't want to hear "how much you don't like your fog lights"... ...or maybe we could work it out you could sell it to us
Right. They're useless, agreed. And yes, it would be awfully off with my 5000k HID kit, but that's okay. I still feel that the prius looks better with them on.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(silentak1 @ Jul 6 2005, 06:24 PM) </div> Here is the original Toyota part number for the fog lights 81211-52070 times two. Left and right are the same part number. The grilles that surround them are 53112-47030 and 53113-47030 (left and right) The bulbs are standard 9006 bulbs that can be found in ANY auto parts store. The wiring I got on ebay. Here is what I used... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-03-TOYOT...008636179QQrdZ1 The kit had the correct plugs for the bulbs. It had a relay even a switch. A simple positive and negative connection. No big deal. From the outside they look stock because they are. The original grilles pop right out. Gently pull them out. The lamps literally snap in. The bumper is molded for them even on the non fog light cars. The new grilles also snap right in. It couldn't be easier.
fog lights are for looks not function (the exception being bmw, where the fog lights are brighter than the headlights, on my friends anyway)
I owned a 4Runner that had excellent fog lights. They made it possible to drive in fog, like they are supposed to. I think too many people believe that fog lights are supposed to be super bright. The fog lights are put to cast a low light on the ground. If you had fog lights that were brighter than the headlights, you would not be able to use them in fog. If you want bright lights, replace your headlights. I changed my fog lights to silverstar ultra, I was tired of the yellow with the blue HID lights.
