Haha that's the Tapatalk signature. It hasn't worked right in forever. It's supposed to say " iPhone" or whatever

    iPhone ?

Just be aware that for 2013, Toyota separated the AT package so that there was a smaller spread in MSRP. So the Advanced models didn't have the AT package so that Toyota could offer a lower price.

No, it's because people didn't want to remove that signature from TapaTalk and it was just unnecessary text :p. That was the best that we can trim down.

Toyota really undercut these around May of 2014. I think my wife's Advanced (Blizzard Pearl) was ~$32k out the door and $28k after the federal tax credit and state rebate, which was less than a similarly spec'd normal hatch. Still, Edmunds has it at $16k+ for a private party sale, which is $40%+ depreciation over 3 years.

Plug-in's going for less than the standard hatches is still crazy. They get better mpg, have ~10 miles of EV, and usually have better features/trim all things considered. The only downside is less cargo space. I've seen a few used Pips I thought about buying, but I decided to keep driving my beater 2007 Prius and wait to see if my Model 3 reservation is worth turning into an order later this year.

The prime is nice too, but I wish they had designed it so they wouldn't trade 10+ EV miles/EV at highways speeds for a whole seat and a bunch of cargo space. I think that's gonna come back to bite them given what Hyundai and Tesla are offering/will probably offer.

"Plug in's going for less than the standard hatches is crazy" So, initially egregious and now causing me irreparable harm to my pockets!! Laugh now, cry later - Plug in owner

I could think of worst cars to be stuck with forever. My dad's Ford Tempo comes to mind.

When you are saying "run out," are you meaning of both charge and gas?

I assume bisco meant charge. That's what I meant anyway. I haven't run out of gas since 1975. ;) And now that I'm in my sixties, I always seem to have gas.

right, full tank of gas, but i ran out of juice a mile from home on a 15 mile trip. it's just frustrating that the engine has to go through the warm up cycle. funny thing is, i drove home all the way on ev, cause the engine recharges the battery while warming up.
a couple of times, it has started as i pulled into the garage. that's where i like fords idea of allowing the user to dig a little deeper into the battery now and then.

oh, i ran out of gas in my 2008. after the beep, i made a mental note to fill up, i forgot and no longer noticed the blinking pip. no idea how many miles trips i made, but was fortunate to only be a mile from home when she died.

I ran out twice during the Arab oil embargo. First time was on a Kawasaki 350 like this: http://www.bikez.com/
It was on I-5 in northern CA in the night. One station after another had no gas. I pushed it a mile to the first station that had gas. Next time, was in a car and I coasted into the station. Whew!!

I once ran out of juice waiting for the garage door to open. I panicked and shut off the car. I got out and started pushing. When I failed to budge the car accompanied by my wife's jeer in the passenger seat, I powered the car back on.

Now as I type this, I could have just plugged in the EVSE for a few minutes... grrr...

My 2013 PiP with 151k miles is probably worth nothing, especially after some jerk scrubbed against my front quarter panel when my car was parked. This is one expensive car and I'm afraid for the day when there's a failure...

It's a joy to drive tho.

My Pappy put it to me rather simply years ago. " Don't buy crap you don't need with money you don't have."

He was (is) a wise man! Lots of folks are buying stuff they can't afford in order to impress people they really don't care about. Not that anyone here would do that. This is an amazingly frugal bunch here.

My first post on this forum:
Bought a PIP (2013 Plugin Prius with 28K miles on it for $14K, excellent condition with new tires and brakes etc.. base model) . My 17 years old Accord is ready to RIP.

Great price! Although I doubt it needed new brakes. Prii can go hundreds of thousands of miles without new brakes. If it truly needed new brakes then that thing was abused very badly.
