Hi , I have a 2009 with 34,000 miles. About 3 times in the last month or so, the amber electronic braking warning light has come on, then turned off by itself a couple of days later. After the second time, I brought it to the dealer, but they said that no codes were set off and they couldn't find any problem. Has this happened to anyone before, or know what may be the issue? Thanks, SK
How about taking a sharp photo of the warning light(s) next time it(they) appear(s) so that we can see exactly which light(s) you are referring to.
I agree. A low tire pressure warning is not going to set a DTC. Check the tire pressure on all four tires and if necessary reset the tire warning system for the pressure that you use. Consult the owner's manual if necessary to learn about this process.
Also, excessively low pressure in the spare will trip that light on. I discovered mine was 30 PSI, aired it up, light went right out!
Priuses in the US do not have a sensor in the spare tire. But it sure is a good idea to check it regularly. My friend's RAV4 has a sensor in the spare which would light up on cold days and it bugged him to no end until I hooked up my Mini VCI and found the fifth sensor in the spare.
You should be able to tell by just looking at the valve stem on the spare, if it has tpms sensor or not. TPMS equipped valve is metal, and regular valve is black rubber.
