Pre-buyer here. I've never owned a Prius before. (I had to choose a car when I signed up but I'm not actually an owner yet.) I want to get a prius with bluetooth hands free and preferrably, but not required, voice recognition. The two models I'm looking at are Prius 3 and 4 gen Prius and Prius V wagon. Looking at years 2012 - 2016. Can you tell me which trim levels of these generations and models and years have hands free calling and even better, voice rec? It looks like even the trim 2 might have at least the hands free calling on all those years? Thanks so much! Jaya
Hi Jaya, I think you would love the 2013 Toyota prius. It drives smooth, has more features than you can think of. I hope you can check it out someday when you're ready to own one... Landon
Is there any reason you are not considering the 2017? The 2017 Prius has more safety features standard, some of which were not available on the lower trims in 2016. I have a 2017 Trim 2. It has Bluetooth & voice recognition hands free calling although I do not use those features. Occasionally I will get a get message and have the car read it to me, though. Toyota recently said they are making the Trim 1 available for the general public. I do not know what features were trimmed for that model. Be careful, especially with Gen 4 is you desire a spare tire. Trim 2 & 3 are the only ones with spare tire unless they put one in Trim 1 too.
Thanks! Can you tell me if it has the hands free Bluetooth and voice recognition and if so at what trim levels?
I just verified by looking at the brochure on Toyota's site that the Trim 1 has the same Bluetooth features as Trim 2.
Sorry 2015 not 2013. The 2015 Prius Three adds a number of technological upgrades to the Two trim. Upgraded Display Audio System: Navigation, Entune App Suite, SiriusXM All Access Radio, HD Radio, Advanced Voice Recognition Smart Key System on Three Doors with Push Button Start, Bluetooh, Available Solar Roof Package, Power Tilt/Slide Moonroof with Solar Powered Ventilation System. I hope this helps.
