Does anyone know if Toyota has a list of the 10 most commonly sold non-maintenance replacement parts for the Prius Gen II? It would be interesting so I could keep an eye out for trouble. If Toyota doesn't have such a list, has anyone done a search on PriusChat to see what the most popular repair articles are?
welcome! idr ever seeing anything. a manufacturer is not likely to do something so up front. it would be hard to garner any numbers from the millions of posts here, but people can probably give you their thoughts on the most likely culprits. mileage would probably be important.
Manufacturers and their suppliers jealously guard and carefully analyze their reliability and warranty claims data, so I’m sure Toyota has such a list, but it’s highly unlikely to be published. The nearest thing I’ve seen in print is the Toyota Fast-Moving Parts Catalog, but its focus is maintenance and life-limited parts. One dealer has the 2010 edition on their website; the Prius section is on pages 185-191.
On the prius, even maintenance items can run over $1000. Shocks for example. They should just make it a repair. 1. Water pump 2. Electric water pump 3. Axle seals 4. Intermediate steering shafts 5. 3 way coolant valve 6. Wheel bearings 7. Catalytic converters 8. Coils 9. Injectors 10. Batteries SM-N900P ?
Hi there, Any luck on your search for answers yet regarding the Toyota brand? I think I would like to know about that too.
