I will be leaving my car for 5 months. Doing force charge I can get it to 6 bars but not 8. Is that normal. Should i be concerned with storing for 5 months?

Those bars are for the hybrid battery. It will be fine. Your problems will stem from the 12V battery instead.

I am using a battery tender for the 12V...everything I read was to force charge the hybrid until full

You read wrong. The charge level of the traction battery is not important.

If it was down to the minimum of 2 bars, I'd still charge it up. But 6 bars seems just fine.

Full charge is less than ideal for overall battery longevity. Somewhere near the middle is best, even though it won't last as long for any one trip. But the Prius traction battery doesn't seem to have a rapid self discharge, and snowbirds haven't been reporting problems.
