Hey guys long story short. I lost all the key of my 2007 prius. I had to busted the window to open the door and tow it to my house. Anyway I have another wrecked 2009 prius that i purchased for the hybrid battery so now i have all the parts from the 2009 prius left including the key. Both have smart key. My question is what do i need to take from the wrecked 2009 prius to install it on my 2007 prius to be able to get the key working with my 2007? Thanks in advance.

Tow the car to the dealer, bring your 2 keyfobs from the other car. Have them do an ignition reseed to make the other keyfobs work. They will charge you 1 or 2 hours of labor. You may want to bring along the car's title to prove it's your car.

No need a 2007 prius can program the key in the dash socker. Search the web for chicken dance. A dealer can make a metal key from the vin code

Good luck i see this is a rh, drive prius.UK? MY PROCESS WAS A BIT DIFFERENT. You have nothing to loose. My 2011 cost me $110 at the dealer to program. I did my 2007 myself. Used fob from ebay.

Afaik, the "computer" for a 2009 and 2007 are quite different and hold the vin code. I had an old fob but it was dead. Best of luck

My original key was fried. I lost four keys for two cars. Had to pay toyota on the 2011. There are locksmiths who can come to you. They are rare.

Well I hope this works without having an original key. Then we can all just do this chicken dance with an unlocked Prius and drive it home

He has nothing to loose. Find a locksmith. There is also a key that has a chip in the head that can be programmed. But it must stay in the socket while running.

Any car thief can do that on most cars. But towing the car? Call a locksmith
