Congrats and here's to many nights of reading, learning and sharing. I also have the premium. This car is a different animal, my first plug-in, hybrid or otherwise. I've had a Prius v and I thought it would be a fairly lateral move to the Prime. Boy, was I wrong. In the v, no HV over 43 mph. In the Prime HV at pretty much any speed and many other differences. Enjoy!

I got a $2,500 rebate from Toyota which started on April 4th in Rochester, NY. I also got $1,098 for the Costco discount. Plus dealer handling was only $75.

    Jessetoedtman,

You will need to make price and value assessment in city or state if you want to purchase within your city or state. In my case, there were no Prius Prime available, be on waiting list for 3 to 6 months and dealers were wanting MSRP. My wife found "PriusinME" thread pricing:

"I am picking up my new PP Advanced today. Paying $30,335. Hopefully that is a pretty good deal. I got $1,500 off as a rebate plus $2,769 for Preferred Customer Discount. Turning in my 2-year BMW i3 lease this week. I like the performance of the i3 but too bumpy here in Portland (Pothole), Maine"

therefore I contacted Toyota dealer in Portland Maine offer was very similar to what "PriusinME" purchase price and decided to purchase it last week. Please keep in mind in my case 2500 cash rebate was offered. Having said above if you do not care which state you want to purchase, do registration/title and willing to drive or pay shipping for the vehicle, there wetr two Prius Prime Premium on the lot (one white and second blue), one being offered at 27700, you will need to contact dealer to find out if it includes or does not include 2500 cash rebate.

Good luck on your quest in purchasing Prius Prime vehicle.

    Hi Folks!

Just made a deposit on a Prime Advanced yesterday! Thanks to this forum, I was able to know a good deal when I saw one and decided to move on it. Specifically, the current $2500 cash back from Toyota in Massachusetts (expires Monday 5/1). After calling around the Boston area, I found a few dealers willing to offer an additional $1000 or so incentive. The interesting part is I live in Colorado. Out here there are no incentives, and one dealer even insisted on a $1000 markup over MSRP. Bummer. Atlantic Toyota in Lynn, MA also was willing to ship the car to my home to save me from flying out there & driving back, although for $1200 I probably got a haircut there. Here are the final numbers:

    Model/Color: Magnetic Grey/Black Advanced
    MSRP: $34,298.00
    Selling Price $30,877.00
Incentives: $2500.00 (Toyota MA) + $921 from dealer
    Fees: $245 documentation + $1200 shipping
    Out the door price: $32,322.00
Dealer location: Atlantic Toyota in Lynn, MA

For my city & county in Colorado, I'll be paying a 7.9% tax rate, plus a little over $600 to register. Even after shipping, I'm saving a little over $2200 from what I'd pay in Colorado, and I'll get the car now rather than whatever the ordering wait is.

When I do taxes for 2017, I'll obviously get the $4500 from the feds, plus $5000 from the state of Colorado. Not a bad deal in the end.

Thanks PriusChat! It was great being the 'informed buyer'.

Congrats Ken! I paid slight more than you for a premium model here in SoCal. Loving the car so far!

Hey Ken, congrats on your PP Advanced! I picked up my Advanced couple days ago from NJ driving it back to Denver, CO. Total trip will be about 2000 miles and got about 55mpg on my first fill up between Jersey to Chicago.

    2017 PP Advanced Blue Magnetism
    MSRP $34,274
Toyota Rebate $2,500 (only in NY, NJ, MA expires 5/1/2017)
Sales tax $1400 (4.25% Arapahoe county, CO)
    Dealer discount $500
    Documentation fee $400
Out of state title fee $300

CO plate registration fee: 2.1% of taxable value for the 1st year then percentage gets lower after each year.

Be aware when buying in NJ, dealer has to collect 1st year registeration fees for CO DMV. DMV will ship permanent plates to the dealer and dealer will air mail it to my residence in CO. NJ temp plate is only valid for 20 days.

Thanks Joe - I learned that MA doesn't even do temp plates. If I didn't ship, I'd have to do all the paperwork via FedEx, get plates in CO, then fly out to MA with the plates to drive home. While shipping was more expensive, I can get the paperwork done and have plates in hand when the car arrives. The MA dealer didn't have to collect anything, but I'll be on the hook to go to the county building and pay all tax & title fees before I can register and get plates.

PP Premium I ordered 4 weeks ago came in with a dent on the body. Sales manager agreed to switch to a different vehicle however there is one extra accessory $125 (Dr Edge Guard). She agreed to give it to us free. : )

-Dealer location: Elk Grove, California (near Sacramento)

    The Fed $4500 + CA $1500 + SMUD $600 makes this a about $22,671. Amazing for such a vehicle.

I opted for the Plus. I NEED dedicated buttons and knobs -- that touchscreen requires way too much focus; when it's hot in Sacramento, I want to hit max AC as soon as possible. And silence my music without bumbling around with the touchscreen. I love the interface of the Plus which is exactly that of the Prius Liftback -- tried and true.

    Good luck!
