Is it possible to call that dealership to see if they forgot to program the keys for the SKS function? You have the invoice and maybe they can look at it without charging you?

No, you will not find it much cheaper for what you need to do. Those prices are reasonable.

No, not without at least one fully working fob. You also need to have brand new (as in never used before) fob with silver logo on the back to get the SKS features working. The Chicken Dance does three things; 1) adds key fob; 2) programs lock/unlock to car; 3) if SKS, add SKS function. In order to do these without a reseed, you need a fully working key fob to copy.

    This dealer sounds incompetent.

My guess is that they didn't program the SKS function? If true, will dealer fix it since he has the invoice?

I've read here that the button needs to be out , for fob to function for a start without insert into slot.

Hey, I'm late to this party, but I agree with this statement.

Water in the back of a Prius is a bigger issue than with other cars.
Water and battery components do not mix.

    Get this issue addressed.
