This is the update I received on Apr. 1st for my vehicle... We'll see.
I was told Washington State dealers could finally order the Prime on March 2nd. I ordered & paid my deposit on March 6th, was told then to expect the car in 3 to 4 months. My salesman called last Friday (April 7th) to say he'd been notified my car should arrive between May 15th and 18th. I don't know if that is when the ship arrives or they have it ready for me at my local dealer lot. It is getting closer!
Since I was out of the state I called the guy and Toyota dealership that Costco uses. He gave me a $1098 discount and he gave me the Costco Certificate. After the deal is done and if you are a Excutive member you get 50% off any accessories up to $400 Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Ordered Jan 9th, production March 28th, vessel departure April 7th. Dealer estimates delivery 1st week in May. I hope he's right given the train time from Ca to Mn then truck to Northern WI. Just in time for all the snow to be melted. Really, its been mostly gone for at least two weeks.
Upnorrth, I'm in a similar 'boat'. Ordered mine Jan 2 and was told first week of May. I called the dealership yesterday - the ship docked 2 days ago and she's waiting for the status to change to F (freight) indicating it's on its way to MN.
Pretty much the same time frames for me down here in Austin, TX: Ordered mid-January and coming in (allegedly) mid-May. Mine might even be on the same ship as yours! iPhone ? Pro
Ordered Feb 20th. Got the call yesterday that it was made on the 11th of April. It's expected to arrive in NY (shipped from Japan) the first week of May. They expect it to arrive in PA at the dealership at the end of May. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Hope they made friends on board! As I approach retirement, I want to 'audition' places to spend the cold winter months. Austin is on the top of my list! Crazy red state but at least a blue city, and I hear you have a lot of transplanted Minnesotans there thanks to 3M. The desire to become a snow bird in the future was one factor in getting a plug-in hybrid rather than total EV.
It looks like a few of us have vehicles on this shipment which arrived April 19th! I should be getting an update/confirmation from the dealer today on when it'll arrive at the dealership here.
Dealer says my Prime is in F status 4/26/17, tomorrow. No train or delivery information tho. Not sure how this translates into delivery date. Sounded like a number of us have Primes on the boat that docked 4/18. Can anyone in this very helpful community shed light on average transit and delivery times to Minneapolis and North once its in F status?
Wish I knew! I live in St. Paul where (I'm told) the new cars are unloaded and moved onto the big trucks. I actually considered trying to go down and photograph the Primes coming off the train, but the dealer tells me that it's well -guarded and I couldn't get close. There's probably a way to track the train, but I don't know how.
I'm checking back with dealer on Thursday, maybe there will be more information then. I guess Im not to old to feel a little impatient
You've piqued my interest. I didn't know which dealerships near me Costco uses until I signed up at the Costco website and got multiple emails and text messages. So how did you know Costco worked with the dealer before you called?
Adding to the general discussion: I was told today that if I got on the list I should expect 3-4 months. In 2004, it was 14 months for a Gen2
I suppose I got lucky. We recently bought a Camry for my wife and I mentioned to the dealer that I'd want to upgrade my 2011 Prius to the Prime later this year. Well he called me last week and told me a guy had backed out of his deal on a Red Premium. I thought it over for a few days and made the deposit. Should be on the lot in a couple weeks.
