I've searched everywhere. Has anyone installed an aftermarket stereo in their 2015 Prius C One?
I'm thinking about doing it. As far as I can tell, the only car-specific thing the One stereo does is tell you mpg, so I don't think I'd lose any functionality. I'm hoping to add GPS and backup camera.

I installed the OEM audio plus system in my prius c 4. it didnt change the head unit but it replaced front and rear door speakers the tweeters and added an amp. it also comes with a sub that fits nicely into the back of the car.

Did you get any answers to this? I ask as I have the exact same question and would like to move forward replacing the unit. However I am also concerned if there is any loss of functionality based on the 'car' button and the functionality it has.

No answers. Ghost town here. I checked and there's not much under "car" that I would miss. But I'm holding off for now

Did you have any mpg loss that you would attribute to the sound system? I changed my front speakers to aftermarket and added an underseat sub. Haven't changed the head unit, yet.

I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood Excelon ddx5902 I think. You need the adapters to go with it or you lose functionality thru the steering wheel. Yes you can add a backup camera if you want and depending on the head unit you can add navigation too. It just depends on how much you want to spend on parts and install. The Kenwood Excelon Units are 4V output units presenting a good clean signal to your sound processor or amps.

People need to remember that with multiple amps comes high amp draw on the electrical system. I have 2 at the moment and will be upgrading the 12v battery to an optima yellow top or similar. In my Prius the 12V battery is under the seat so the installer needs to remove the back seat first.

I'm not sure what make of subwoofer Sifugus used but I have one Hertz 12 " that does at max 500 watts and it does fine. Unless he has a custom box around the spare tire area or fiberglass work around the inside of the trunk area; his hatch area is gone.

I have used a Hertz component set and a Hertz amp that pushes 1000 W. Since I have a powerful amp pushing those speakers there is no distortion. My amp is under the passengers seat. Hertz is very efficient for their size making it a good choice for a very small car. The other comparable speakers would be Focal or Morel.

The only loss from upgrading the sound system may be in the HP of the car as usually 750W=1 HP. The Prius has 122 HP so isn't known for its speed. The only way mpg would be affected is if you added a lot of weight i.e., big heavy subs and batteries/amps to power them. The added weight from sound system upgrades isn't always a bad thing as the car is very light due to being mostly plastic; on windy days or winter storms the extra weight helps. I also add snow tires in winter.
