I'm sure you are doing a better job than Ford did with the 72 pinto.

Oh, right. Sorry. Having an Engineer moment there. Things got a bit jumbled when I went off on that tangent. I'll try to stay on topic now that I can work out in the garage again.

    Staying on topic:rolleyes:

And an engineer moment is better than a senior moment;).

Day off from work for Good Friday holiday. I'm glad it was sunny and in the low 70's degF. Got a decent amount done in the afternoon.

Front bumper bracket parts filed, drilled and fitted to be welded tomorrow.

Initial cut-out of the old Firebird radiator support got to the point I could hang it on the car over the radiator. I need to make adjustments here and there once the front bumper is back on.

Another good day in the garage. I welded the front bumper brackets into their new configuration and ground down the rough spots. I then mounted the brackets onto the front of the car.

Then I mounted the front bumper assembly back onto the front of the car. So far so good.

The new configuration is going to look much nicer, having chopped 6 inches out of the extra length. It is only 4.5 inches longer than stock now, and things are positioned nicely for the fender supports.

    A very satisfying day!

You got to make great progress in your garage.

I got to host 40+ people for pre Easter dinner.

Only 15-20 tomorrow so should be a little less hectic(y).

so will this be titled as a firebird or the salvage prius its built on?
in florida we have to rebuild to original and pass inspection before a rebuilt title and tag will be issued

The horns can easily be changed. The ones in the link in my signature below sound very GM.

No! I will be using stock 1967 Firebird dual horns.

It is and always has been titled as the 1967 Firebird under its original VIN. It is considered a street rod / resto-mod.

Clean-up weekend while I wait for supplies to arrive. I do love it when the morning sun shines on the car.

Are you sure there is a Prius under there;).

They say patience is a virtue. And the waiting is the hardest part.

Nothing very photogenic lately. There is no way to make door glass removal look pretty.

Working on final prep for the body lift-off later this month. The garage is going to be cramped again while I have the media blaster going. I need to strip off the paint to see what bodywork needs to be done.

Nope. I'm using the stock 326 hood with a filler piece made from the second used hood I bought. The fiberglass hoods all have hood scoops, which would just be strange on a hybrid in my opinion.

With your new logos that should be an HSD hood. :D

Finished protecting the windshield inside and out while I could still stand inside the body. One step closer to lifting the body off again.
