i just start brake testing them.. it was a idiot in a 2004 mercedes hatchback that had to stop for me in a roundabout, he was going like 60kph into the roundabout and then when he was 5 meters away from the roundabout he pressed the brake pedal as hard as he could. I honked at him and gave the "what tha **** r u doing" hand movement, then he started following me literately in my nice person, not more then 30 cm away from my bumper turned on his beams and flashed them at me while honking and shit, i just honked back at him and pressed the brake pedal as hard as i could. he was literally 5cm away from my bumper, then i just accelerated to 30 kph in the 60 zone. Just to piss him off and kept brake testing him every time he honked. Funny enough, he didn't have the balls to come out when my car was still lol.

he asked for it ;), he would`ve gotten the fault anyways if he crashed into me. I wouldnt have started braketesting him if he didnt honk and used his beams in the middle of night to blind me, to then drive in my nice person. I didnt even mean to honk, i was turning the wheel and accidently pressed it even before the roundabout and before i even saw the mercedes, The "what tha **** r u doing" hand movement was what triggered him.

I got an air horn. It is loud as hell! Best thing ever for this car. eBay kit like $30 includes relay. One horn is all you need.
Its epidemic now to be behind a car that's sitting there when the light turns green as there on there phone. One blast of the air horn and its giddyup!

When I bought my g2 new in 07 it was every F150 on the road up my butt. People actually hated this car. Thanks Fox News.
But mostly becasue new Prius drivers would plod along while staring at the mfd and checking there mileage trying to get the last drop. You could always tell a new Prius owner there the ones coming off the light really really slow which is the last thing you want to do if hypermiling. I have been stuck behind many of them back in the day.
Not so much anymore. Prius are everywhere and extremely popular in the Tampa/St Pete area. No one hypermiles anymore gas is so cheap. The traffic is so aggressive now if you don't drive fast you'll get slammed into.

If I am at a light and I have an F150 on my nice person I bait him. He's usually sitting 2 inches from my bumper. The second the light turns green I'm gone. The car has pretty good pickup. I hit it hard. The F150 always has to chase me and has to really get on it and they always have to pass me...always without exception but by then there doing more than 80 miles an hour. Then they have to slow down. Its so stupid.
The anti prius is so inbred in rednecks its ridiculous.
    Have to hate.

I drive above the speed limit so I don't get tailgated. I haven't noticed this car being any different then any others I have owned.

LOL, thats funny, ive noticed some like this in the norwegian roads to, i always (just to piss the ones in the rear off) just full throttle, just caus eits a prius that just assfucked them they just have to go intot he other lane and pass me like 20-30 kph over the speelimit, lol, it doesnt matter if i even go 70kph in a 60 zone, they wanna pass anyways. just cause its a prius. People think its slow cause it doesnt got gears, it really tricks u to believe its super slow, but it is kinda fast, atleast from 0-60kph.

I have seen many crazy driving people do, hurting themselves as well as others consequently.

No matter how/what one drives, the driver cannot be held responsible for other driver's emotions and actions.

I used to be a road-raging driver, and remember what I felt and done when I came up to slow driving cars. However, I alone was responsible for my feelings and actions, not the slow drivers.

Whether your are a hypermiler or not, whether you drive a Prius or not, you have many options (e.g.,If you drive 55-60 on Hwy with posted speed limit 65, most will not even bother you where there is/are lanes to pass).

Life is too short to rush through. I would allow myself to slow down, stop worrying about what others might think of me, and be content. Peace

I'm not sure about how this would be received in the rest of the country (or the rest of the world), but down here in the deep south, this sticker seems to cut way back on the tailgating.

Speedo is definitely 5% in my Prius. If it displays 84kmh isn't doing 80.
I think it's the law in Australia that it has to be 5% over.

I was driving a street that indicated a speed limit of 40 mph. I was doing 49 and being passed. I sped up, curious to see what speed the other vehicles were doing. they were going 56 in that 40 zone.

I drive slightly above the posted speed and am rarely tailgated. But 16 mph over the limit is too much.
Stressful times for many people I guess.

Houston Texas is odd city, there are several pick up trucks that like to tail gate, there are sedans that like to tail gate, there are mini vans that like tail gate not only any Prius, but other vehicle makes. There are also the ones that like to overtake and cut in front. There are many reasons why in tailgating and cutting in front in which I do not care, as long my safety and others in my surrounding area does not get affected. One of my experience was, one pick up truck cut me off and started to tailgate other vehicle, next part was an 3 car accident in front of me, as the accident was occurring, I was hoping the back drivers will not be hitting on my rear due to sudden action, was something out the movies. The worst part are that others need to suffer injuries, lost of work time, even even death in return I and others need to pay high insurance rates due to irrational behavior. I think many drivers do not realize that vehicle can be a tool that can be used as weapon when used improperly, unless they really experience closely.

Same. I'm generally doing 5 over and I rarely have an issue with tailgating. If I had to pick anything that **seems** to be because I'm driving a Prius it's that Pickup trucks hate being passed. :) I've had so many instances where I go past a pickup on the highway, one who'd just dawdling along at the limit or just below it. But as soon as I go by, the speed up, pull left, and go right back around me. As if they can't stand being passed by a Prius. then again, maybe they do that to everyone.

I think much of this is just in our heads. I don't think "we" are as harassed as we think we are. I think that the average driver on the road is fairly blasé about what other cars are around them. People who tailgate a Prius, probably tailgate every car they get behind.

    Thanks guys.

    For the record:

I typically drive to the far right on the way to work. I leave when it is still dark out and leave plenty of room for those who would prefer to zip on by. But they don't seem to want to do that. They seem to want to get right on my tail, to make a point, and then after a few minutes, zip on by. There is plenty of room over there!~ GO!

I think the rear window design of the hatch makes cars appear closer than they actually are.
