Check out this wrecked Prius. Does anyone in TX know about this accident? From the outside it's hard to imagine anyone could have lived through it, but when you see the interior pics, it looks like the passenger compartment did fairly well. Wrecked Prius
Yikes... did a semi fall from the sky and land on it? I hope the driver made it out alive, but it sure doesn't look good. I'm in TX but nowhere near Brownsville, so no, I don't know anything about it.
ehh.. i don't think anything landed on the car. It looks like the roof was cut off to free the occupants. You can tell since the roof is concave and you can see the headliner on the top. Maybe it was a multi-car pileup?
I was thinking it didn't look too terrible. The roof was clearly cut off and the passenger compartment is almost completely intacts. Front end and left quarterpanel damage suggests it hit something in front and spun to hit the rear or was hit in the rear and force the collision in the front. I bet they're all OK.
I don't understand why Texas. The web site says Indiana. Located at 287 N Gardner Scottsburg IN 47170 (30 miles north of Louisville Ky and about 75miles south of Indianapolis In.) 2 or 3 minutes from I- 65 812-820-5050

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jbarnhart @ Jun 23 2006, 03:11 PM) </div> LMAO... The roof was cut off and turned over, then placed back on the car. This would indicate that an extrication took place, which means that at least someone in the car was alive (or at least not obviously dead - like decapitated) such that the rescue squad cut open the car to get them out.
Lack of massive amounts of blood would lead me to think that decapitation probably did not occur. The interior that was shown has no gross blood on it. As anyone knows you can die from internal injuries without outward bleeding but I must say that overall it looks like maybe this car gave its' all.
Hello Everybody I am the prius parts guy...Steve Woodruff I used the wire harness from this car and most of the electronics to repair a flooded 05 Prius with 800 miles on it. Everything turned out fine but I would not rebuild another flooded prius. Everything except the sheetmetal had to be replaced. This car appeared to have no blood anywhere. And Yes the roof was removed by emergency crews. I have seen dozens of collision damaged Prius's and am impressed with how well they protect the passenger cabin and occupants. I place my loved ones in a repaired prius without concern.
