There's a certain bit of irony that someone named unicorn posted this thread.

    Wonderful to know.:D
Most people do not realize the great difference between the regular Prius Hybrid and the Prime Plug-In Hybrid until you tell them the details and then their eyes open wide with amazement.

Tell them this is a hybrid that can run on gas if you need to but for the most daily commutes and errands it needs ZERO gas and can go easily between one thousand and two thousand miles between fill-ups, and then see their reaction.
This is a much better solution than a purely EV which is a dead duck if it runs out of juice between electrical outlets/chargers :)

Good for those who voted the Prime to the number 1 spot that it rightly deserves.(y)

I have long complained about the similarly named "Green Car of the Year" which appears to be a one man operation who selects a much smaller group of 11 enthusiasts versus the "World Car of the Year" jury of 48 international journalists. I also appreciate posting the scores:
A one vote difference between the Chevy Bolt and Prius Prime is 'in the noise' which doesn't cause me any grief.

Confirmation bias(?), we own two top cars:
    • 2014 BMW i3-REx
    • 2017 Prius Prime Plus
These two cars are so similar in performance, it is a coin-toss which one I drive as both are superb. Each backs up the other:
    1. Last week the BMW i3-REx was in the shop for a recall, so I got a ride home to drive our Prime.
    2. Today the Prime is in the shop for a receiver hitch, so I got home and am driving our BMW i3-REx.
