The large screen rapidly flickers light.....primarily at night.... most severely on the white, rather than the dark screen. Most uncomfortable. Daytime too. It is a well documented health concern. I stalled on delivery until I have more info.
Bummer. did you check another vehicle to see if more than one does it? that sounds really bad and can be dangerous while driving.
+1. Big bummer. Deal killer for me too. I have some optic nerve damage and stuff like this puts me into a sort of eye epilepsy condition. I subscribed to this thread to read reports from others. Hopefully there is a firmware fix for the problem.
"Health concern"? "Well documented"? Proof please. The screen dims at night and can be dimmed during the day. In fact, if you're so concerned you should get the basic model and turn it off (which can also be done)!
I had a cell phone on which the screen flickered like crazy when at low light emission levels. I exchanged it for the same model and the flickering was gone. Sounds like an LED driver issue to me.
Took delivery of my Prime Advanced last Saturday, and the flickering of the 11" screen was the first thing I noticed. Not deal breaker for me, but it's definitely annoying. Just curious - is this just how it's supposed to be (because Toyota chose to save $20 on sourcing a higher quality display)? Does anybody notice their displays are flickering too?
I have not noticed any flickering of the display on my Premium model, which I have had for just over two months.
Curious to know, does anyone have a accessory alarm installed by the dealer? Even if you had it disabled and didnt want it
just started to flicker after 5000 miles...noticed it flickers in low outside light conditions ...which also is flickering my HUD at the same rate...sounds like they are tied together somehow...i turned down the contrast/brightness...helped a bit but still remains...
