Hi everyone, I just received the MVCI cable with Toyota techstream software that I bought from ebay, I have a laptop with Windows 10 x64, the software and the driver installed without issues but when I try to connect to the Prius C I get and error saying connection, failed, I searched Google and all I could find was something about driver incompatibility, when I try to reinstall the driver it says the driver is already installed and up to date, is there a way to fix this? Those cheap cloned cables frequently are made very poorly. First, look at the pins in the OBD2 connector and make sure they all are straight and undamaged. If that doesn't solve the problem, it is likely an issue internal to the connector (often the connections aren't soldered well); ask your vendor for a replacement, and that will often solve the issue. Good luck!
Hi Roxas125, The MiniVCI driver is available in 32 bit version only, it can't work on 64 bit Windows. It can be installed without issues but it can not connect to vehicle. You may want to try this workaround for 32 bit driver to work in 64 bit Windows. I've tested on my W10x64 and it works. Vincent
This may be true for some. I recently received a mini-vci cable and disk from odbamily(?) on ebay and the Techstream software fired up perfect first time on my 64bit laptop with Win-10. No communication problem at all. All I did was follow the installation instructions as best I could considering the language barrier.
...I have not crossed the non-XP bridge yet, but the cable I bought contained software/workaround for 64 bit versions.
Managed to make it work on Windows 10 x32 and was able to program the keys Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I used on macbook with virtualbox oracle using win xp 32 bit.its free and I got xp torrent works fine. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I am also trying to download a version of Techstream to my Windows 10, 64 bit, and a new VCX Nano. But I must not be computer savvy enough- as I keep running into dead end- the registration # sends me to registration page for type of user and need password etc... Anybody have some easy instructions for down load and use for computer dummies?
Do not install or try to open/use these techstream versions with wifi enabled. Disconnect first or it will continually try to link up and will lock down every time.
