    Hello all,

I've encountered an issue with my back, left tire and wanted some advice.

I noticed the low tire pressure light on my dashboard yesterday, and when I inspected the tires I found this

    [IMG][IMG]

I really don't want to replace it, but I'm prepared to. These tires only have 25K miles on them.

    What are my options?

Can't see the pics, so not sure what to recommend. But, tires are cheap compared to what can happen when one fails.

The puncture is off the tread and on the sidewall. All service centers and tire shops will tell you this tire isn't salvageable and must be replaced.

This is a replacement option only, don't repair. Your life is more important than the price of 1 tire

Thanks for the reply, I'm assuming the pics worked. I'm not sure what went wrong there.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I suppose I should get the same make and model as the other tires?

I can't see them, either on Firfox on a PC or Safari on an iPhone. Seems like some responders can see them anyhow. And yeah, hole in the sidewall you don't want to try repairing.

What operating system and hardware are you using?

Ideally, you want the same make and model of tire as a replacement. If you get a different tire, there is a slim chance of having the traction control wheel speed sensors detecting a speed difference between the two wheels, especially if they're mounted on the front drive wheels.

Weird. It's probably because I'm using the app for Android 'PriusChat' or something.

That makes sense. Looks like I'll have to make a trip to Bridgestone then.

    Thanks for your insight.

So I just got all four tires replaced. I recognize that at less than 30K, it might a waste to do so; but the Firestone place i went to had a sale on 'ecopia' tires. Might as well get that out of the way.

    Thank again guys!

Good plan. Replacing one with the rest close to 30K will lead to hassles down the road.

You must be using something unorthodox to upload pictures, on pc your avatar is also not showing:

Ditto for all the pictures of tires, nothing showing for me:

    Thanks!

Yeah. Maybe because I'm using the official app for this website. Next time I'll just use my desktop from home.

Any time you're in the edit window, you can either "upload a file", and then there are options to just show as an attachment, an icon, or the full image embedded in the text. The latter is the most convenient for reader.

If it's windows system, look into "Snipping Tool". It's built-in, can take snapshots of anything you're seeing on-screen. It also automatically copies them to "clipboard", makes them on-deck for pasting. When you're in the full Priuschat editor (not quck edit) you can directly paste image wherever the cursor is currently positioned, by just keying <ctrl> V.

I enjoyed my Ecopias. Car was totaled before I could see what I got out of them.

Not a waste if you didnt pay to recycle the old tires and
kept at least 2 of the old tires and bag em up for use later.

Then next time you will be ready

Don't rotate the new tires and the fronts will wear out in time to have a matched set.
