Well I think I was involved in some threads where some people...... No..never mind... I think I self brain washed myself into quiet tolerance, masquerading as enjoying the easy clean maintenance. They are easy to clean. That's the best I think I could ever really do.
Toyota probably figures people prefer a wheel design with spokes rather than the solid face design of the original Insight. This is Toyota's way of getting the aerodynamic design they want and also save weight (plastic is lighter than aluminium-alloy). Also, on the Prius c, it's a cost measure. Steel rims with wheel covers are cheaper than a set of alloys. All base models have steel rims with wheel coves (from the Camry and lower)
I love the original Insight.-Still looks cool IMO...in 2017. For it's time? Really Cool Product IMO. I was disappointed to an extent in 2010, when the "New" Insight didn't capture enough of the groundbreaking aspect of it's predecessor.
...and the gen 4 wheels need different center caps. The ones from my 2012 didn't work, but I found ones that did work.
