New photos of our trade show demo Prolong Battery Discharger were just added to our website. We are going with six different variants. The Prolong Battery Discharger will support all common battery sizes up to the 240 cells. For the Toyota lineup, we will support all three Prius generations, the Prius v, Prius c, Camry Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, CT200h, RX400h, and GS450h. As of Feb. 20, we have three more pre-order units available for our March shipment window. View the photos and order yours soon to avoid the six week delay until full release in late April/early May: Prolong Battery Discharger - Pre Order
Began my first top end balancing this afternoon . At the start of balancing: After one hour: After 2 hours: After 5 hours: I'll disconnect in the morning then see how it goes . Now just patiently waiting for the discharger to arrive!!
First two production units shipped today Nick and Eric, the goods are in the mail! We are going slow to thoroughly test all units before shipment. All pre-orders should be filled in in the next 10-14 days
No, they have not all shipped yet. We will be shipping four more on Monday and the rest next week/weekend hopefully.
Some didn't ship at all . It was nice to find a box at @jeff652 's place with my name on it: Thanks for the local pickup .
Correct. The PiP uses a Lithium battery, which our products do not support. Prolong Battery Systems are only compatible with NiMh hybrid batteries.
Yes, correct. We have not fitted to one yet, but our existing technology will support the Gen4 with the NiMh battery packs.
The last pre-order is shipping today. We have a few post 'pre-order' pre-orders that will be shipping over the next few days. We expect to be fully caught up and have system in inventory ready immediate shipment by the middle of next week .
That is interesting. I've heard much about Li-ions needing to be charged differently, probably due to how more difficult it is for them to siphon off heat when top balancing. huh, you think you can make a reconditioning set for much larger EV or PHEV packs in the future?
We were referring to the NiMH Gen 4 Trim not the Li-ion ones. In the US Trim Two is NiMH. The battery technology available in Gen 4 varies by country.
I'm aware. Then loweest-spec (rental-spec) Gen IV still has NiMH chemistry. I was bringing up the idea if plug-in or BEV owners could get access to a top/bottom recondition in the furutre.
