And that flat space in front - with the black rectangle - we're still waiting for an aftermarket miniature Qi Coffee Machine.
False. The white bone china is still standard on the Three and Four. The black plastic is on the Two and Two Eco. Alternatively, there is a dealer-installed accessory that applies a black appliqué over the white trim that is available for Three and Four owners. It covers the tray/cupholders as well as the shifter piece.
Does someone know for sure, does the Prius Three Touring come standard with the HUD?? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I You can't get a Touring with a HUD at all. You can only get the HUD in the Three and Four non-touring as an option with the sun-roof. There is an e-brochure on the Toyota web-site with all the option combinations. kevin
HUD is an eye-candy. It is pretty much useless for me. My wife however loves it. Go figure!!!! I have a 2016 Prius 3 with ATP and yes HUD is packaged with the sunroof and DRCC. For the 2017, DRCC is standard so it is not in the ATP package for Prius 3 and 4. I don't know if you are paying the same amount of money for that package.
I'm with your wife - I use HUD all the time, rarely look at the dashboard. With my glasses (progressive multifocal) the HUD is exactly in the right place and in focus in the distance area of the glasses, I have to twist my head to get the dashboard in focus with the glasses.
My HUD and several other screens, including back-up camera disappear or fade out when I wear my Polaroid sunglasses. They're great with wet roads and low sun, but think I might get non-polarised ones for other times now the summer is looming ever closer.
Yes, I threw my polarised glasses aside. My brother is a TAXI driver (retired now), and he said that the general recommendation among drivers is NOT to wear polarised glasses on long daytime driving shifts, but tinted ones. I'm not sure the reason, had something to do with accuracy of vision - I must ask him again.
I test drove a '4 with HUD and noticed the same thing. I stopped the vehicle and rotated my sunglasses 90', and the display returned. I contacted Toyota and suggested that they rotate the polarity of the light in the HUD so that it shows up when polarized sunglasses are on your face. (I bought a 3T without HUD, but not for that reason). I always wear polarized Maui Jim sunglasses when I drive in daylight.
I don't know about the tinting, but polarized can be a real problem on a motorcycle where it's more important to see how slippery the road surface is. And it doesn't hurt in a car either.
