If your key fob batteries are at least 2 years old, replace them. I believe it is saying your key fob batteries are low. I'm not sure, but that is one of the most common messages displayed when no other major error symptoms are present.
It says Key not found, I'm also in Ireland driving a Japanese import and having a misfire problem with my 2011 Prius too. Reading here I'm nearly sure its a sticking egr valve and have ordered a replacement from ebay from a 2015 model.
Ah, key not found: Yes, replace the batteries in both of your key fobs. In the meantime, place the fob directly up against the Start button. This works even when the fob battery is completely dead.

Oh not bad at all, but that ticked me upwards. If the EGR valve and cooler require replacement, purchased new both items are a bit over $200 US (apiece). The pair can be purchased used on Ebay for around $150 in total, hopefully low mileage enough to be viable, ie: not significantly clogged. Even if somewhat clogged you can soak it in solvent and take your time cleaning it. The cooler component in particular is hard to reach, pretty much necessitates removal of the bottom-of-windshield cowl, wipers motor and linkage. Since the cooler is connected to engine coolant circuit, perhaps best to do in conjunction with a coolant change.
I was €130 for the egr and cooler, not sure if I will be able to fit it myself though as it looks tricky but I'll give it a go and clean the pipe and manifold while I'm at it. All I've done with it so far is remove the plastic cap of the original egr and move the valve up and down to free it up, the valve had very little movement when I first tried to move it and was probably stuck open. Now it moves freely or at least temporarily, this worked for me for a couple of weeks but the valve became stuck again and the misfire and bad exhaust smell came back. The new egr I got on ebay is the upgraded version so I hope that will solve the sticking issues. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I spent 350 a toyota garage told me it was the coil pack so they put 2 in and new plugs still misses and it's not constant so it's head wrecking sounds like the egr valve alrite cos it only happens the odd time. I'm using the prius as a taxi in Dublin too, I have it a year now and this fault only popped up a few times in the space of a year. What I was most concerned about is the rotten egg smell from the exhaust meaning that raw fuel is getting into the catalytic converter and if not addressed will damage it in no time and would be a costly repair. In my case though I didn't get the engine light come on or any fault codes. The engine just knocked like hell and the exhaust smell of course. Manipulating the egr to free it up has worked for me and the car was driving smooth today. I'm not sure if you are supposed to take the cap of the egr but I took a chance and it worked, going to replace it anyway. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
