I guess if you do not qualify for the credit, he took if for you, "doing you a favor" depending on sales price.

That used Prime Advanced's price just got lowered by $500 to $33,999. 5,000 off msrp is pretty good for only 1,400 miles, but you coudn't say you bought the car new and you'd be the second owner, so...

Isn't it $33,100 plus $895 destination for a new Adv? How is a used one $4 more?

    Re: 2nd owner
If you thought the other guy did not claim the $4500 credit, I don't know what stops you from making a claim (except the rules of course). You have to give VIN number but who knows if IRS checks that. At least on TurboTax the instructions never say you have to be orig owner, and there is no IRS box to check to confirm you are orig owner. Only if you dig into the "further info" link do you get the qualifications.

Good thing they don't have any computers ... like the VIN checking web sites that includes Toyota's owner site.

Probably not a good thing to try.

Today I spoke with a salesman at a small dealership in a small town. They haven't received a Prime yet. He said that a few had been delivered to Washington State. I got mine in Oregon. Toyota could sell them if they could supply them.

Confirmed to include NY and CT; I'm not sure if other states are included but this does appear to be a regional offer.

Another great month for plug-ins and another very respectable month for Prime sales as it is still supply constrained. "The popular Toyota has yet to hit 4 figures worth of average national inventory in stock for any month yet….for March around ~800 copies were normally on hand."

Leaf also is still pulling solid numbers even as Leaf 2.0 unveiling just a few months away. Tesla, Volt,...very nice.

Man I say Prime overtakes Volt if there were adequate supplies in all 50-states...but I do not think manufacturers are trying to sell the max amount. Just the optimum amount for ZEV credits.

How does that work in northeast states?

The slim inventory turns over fast here in Northern California, yet Toyota still offers $1000 cash back. The northeast has much better inventory so higher cash back makes more sense there. Toyota seems purposefully allocating more units there, despite relatively lower demand. Do northeast states have their own ZEV mandates?

They need to see a bunch. Toyota stock price has dropped a lot the past couple months. Down to 108.1 today. Was up to 130 last year.

Agreed. Just ask Harley of 20 years ago..... Their limited supply sold the Shizzle out of their bikes.. As soon as they supplied more than the demand, the demand declined. Moral of the story? If you want it but it's hard to get, you want it even more.... Or something like that...

I got a big, red envelope in the mail today and it was from Toyota. Inside was a full size photo of the center display from the Prime. On the other side was a shot of the instrument panel and the front of the car. This was the only thing in the envelope, no letter, nothing.
