I have a hobbyking Quatro battery cell charger and discharger, and I've watch a couple youtube videos on how they work, like this one. I do everything like he does, but I notice the charger goes up to like 10 volts, and I read 9.1 volts on the battery cell when it begins charging. I turned it off because I don't think they should be that high. What do you guys think? Technical stuff: Charging at 5 Amps, discharging at 1 Amp Also, what should the Mah read for these batteries?
What are you charging Carlos. Is it just a single (7.2V) prius battery module? Or is it something else?
Well that voltage seems way too high. Really only two possibilities there. One that it's a failed high impedance module, the other that's it's just overcharged to hell. To see which case it is, try discharging the module down to about 6 volts and then recharging.
Hi Carlos, I see that 3 years has past, yet having same issue. When charging at 3 amp, charger reach 13V (reading 8.5-9 on the battery connector). When using 1 amp - charger reach ~9V. (2 batteries, 2 imax 6bac chargers) Did you managed to understand?
