I have a Freightliner rollback tow-truck and I w as going to Philadelphia Sunday to pick up 2003 Prius with a battery replaced in 2014 to put in mine. guess it is postponed awhile, as they have nowhere to push the snow.
My 2003 Chevy Silverado 4X4 plow-truck has a bad solenoid and wont start now that I pulled it out front
from storage to clear my property out. Gotta love it!! Just when it's critical - it fails.

 

Rolls, Please keep the snow up there. We have had about three too many winters this winter in NC. Our fallen over bulbs look like drunken sailors with all the comings and goings of winter and spring. Sorry about your truck cutting out just when you needed. Vehicles and cold just don't mix...in Alaska we even had Volvos and Saabs that failed at 40F Below, which wasn't even that cold. Rear hatches froze open, doors would not open or close, blah, blah, blah. I understand your pain.

 

This weekend it looks like I will make the trip to Philly for the donor Vehicle. I can't wait.
I am Plowed out (New starter) and half of snow is melted already. No Blah, Blah, Blah - to it. winter sucks, and we both know it.
I got a new Master cyl. for the Rollback to put on and bleed before I go. Always something to fix - just to get to the next phase.
Your post just reminded me of something I haven't thought about in a long time.

In 1971 I made the trip, the day after I graduated from High school (June 15th.) Thought about camping; then being a "tasty snack" for
Grizzly bears when your in a sleeping bag. I decided against the tent, and sleeping bag.
Better in a tin-can so you are somewhat protected.
I took 3 months to prepare a 1957 Volkswagen bug. Removed passenger and rear seat and put in sections of 3/4" plywood, and rubber-cemented together baby crib foam mattresses, to make it so you could lay down in there; like a big "L" shape. Covered all of it with shag carpet. Hinged the plywood so you could pull up on a rope handle and lift pass. side to pull out fly rod and frying pan.
Different world then, drove up to Canada border, guy comes out, says "where you headed?" Alaska! "OK; Well, have fun!"
He was amused at the tour of my car, and very interested in my fly fishing equipment and fly collection.
Went over top of the Great Lakes and across the Trans-Canada Highway.
1,300 mile gravel road to cross the Al-Can Highway to Fairbanks.
Made Pa. to Fairbanks in 11 days.
I took $400.00 with me; lot of money at the time. Just got out of there in time, in Sept. - when I hear on the radio the town I had just left got 40" of snow overnight. Yes, spent the whole summer just going place to place and exploring. Best - summer - ever!!

Hi guys I'm new I've had my Prius for about a year and just found out about the forums a few months ago. I own a 2011 Prius III white. There are a lot of talented people in these forums with some nice rides .

Newbie here! Found a 2015 C one at a dealer about an hour away. $13,500 with 40k miles. Get to dealer, we talked price before I even looked at the car (started as an email purchase). Arrive on-site with email from sales manage (a steal) and it turns out the car only had 4K miles! Website had typo. So now I've got a 2015 with only 4K miles and practically stole it from the dealership!


Don't mind the ugly sidewalk and plants! Had a very wet winter!
