It's not a wise prediction by AAA...speculators have driven crude prices up this winter, on the hopes the world 's producers would shut in production. We could be due for a big price reduction, if the shoe drops, as some economists have long predicted. On GasBuddy today: โRemarkably, for a third straight week, average gasoline prices have declined. In fact, for the first time since at least 2008 average gasoline prices today stand cheaper today than they started the year,โ said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com." GasBuddy also predicted higher gaso prices this year in January, and now? Just no sense predicting it because it could go one way or the other, and maybe it's the other way (lower).
Meh..... $1.90.....$2.30. Anything less that $2 I don't even pay attention to.......and this is presuming that the prognosticators are right. Me? I see US exploration, and energy increasing over the next 4 years which is why the likes of OPEC are struggling furiously to remain relevant by cutting production.......exactly the same time that people in DC are cutting regulation and expanding exploration. That's not good for people who like high crude prices, because today non-US oil producers can only influence gas prices with oil above about $60 a barrel.........and it's $50 today. It's a tool that loses effectiveness every time that its used, until it's useless (and we regain the ability to meet our own energy needs at market prices.) Below about $5-6 a gallon? A G3 will be "good nuff."
Oh yeah Cali that's a different story. I am little confused why Prius/hybrid sales fell off in Cali too as evidenced by falling back to 25% of the market, I was thinking it might go to 35% or more
We're about $1.30 (Can) per liter here, translates to $4.92 (Can) per US gallon (3.78541 liters per US gallon), translates to about $3.65 US, per US gallon. Now what would that be in French.
Gas just went from $2.00 to $2.40 overnight here in Columbus Ohio. It's been floating between 1.89 and 2.29 for months.
Avg. $2.50/gal. here now. Electric is 6.37 cents per kW. The electric option is becoming far more favorable these days, despite the cost of ownership.
Assuming a Prime gets 25 miles and you're charging 6.3kWh. 0.0637*25*2*6.3 = 0.802 or 80.2ยข for 50 miles. If it's 52 mpg (Gen 4 combined), (50/52 mpg)*$2.50/gal = $2.40 for the same 50 miles. If it's 54 mpg combined (Prime's HV), it's $2.32 for 50 miles.
Thanks, Tide. Our local electric costs are the result of a deal our town made on the resident's behalf. Common practice in the suburbs these days. We got lucky with the latest bid being that low. It will be going up in the next year when the 2 year contract runs out -- hopefully not much higher. And with all that new cheap and clean coal they're going to be getting to power the plants now....
Much of the new petroleum sources in the US simply aren't profitable enough at under $60 a barrel to bother getting out of the ground. Which was one of the reasons the Saudi's increased production a few years ago, to slow or stop the development of those sources. Unless more subsidies for the oil companies is in the cards, that is still the case.
AEP's stated price is $.056/kWh. But on my bill it says I used 24 kwH average per day and my avg cost per day is $3.07. But $3.07 divided by 24 is $.127. So what gives? Am I paying five cents or twelve??!
