Wow, that is too bad. The car is totaled? PA has a few too many deer, and many get hit by automobiles. This week we had 14 deer behind our house.
Hmmmm Love the thread title.... Judging from the damage, I'd say that the deer probably got pretty bunged up too.... It's too bad about the car, but I'm glad that Dad is OK! Don't let the insurance company miss treat you on the street value of the car, and start planning on adding a new car to the driveway!

That's too bad. Deer are thick around here in my part of PA too. I've hit several over the years, but not that hard.
As of today, 2 days after I mentioned 14 deer, it is now 12 deer. Two are laying dead just down the street from us. That happens a lot in PA.

Oh deer! Glad your dad is OK - the car did what it is supposed to do, take it on the chin and absorb the impact. I always worry about deer on the road around here (SE PA), especially in the early morning/early evening hours.
Bummer! I've read more than once that, in PA, cars kill more deer than hunters. Motorcyclists REALLY hate deer. Hope your dad got lots of venison for his trouble and I'm glad he's OK.
Have a friend who hit an 8 point buck last month in a mini-van and veered off the road, over a guard rail and rolled 2.5 times till the car caught on fire. Amazing the 4 in the car all got out relatively OK. Oddest things. Diamond in ring missing. Purse melted into console. Credit cars scattered on the ground. Be glad your dad is OK. Could have been worse. Anything you can pay your way out of is a relatively trivial thing compared to some things that could happen to you.
