The car was build standard (porcelain white) by Toyota in Japan without my any assistance ;).
The afterwards homemade mod has been done by me.

    Ah, very well done!

I've been waiting for the weather to get better plasti-dip my center console, any tips? Did you prep the surface in any way? How many coats of dip did you go on?

I noticed that you did the bottom of the steering wheel which is what threw me off it being DIY, did you just manage to apply on it or did you go through the effort of taking the steering wheel off? I'm still waiting for the plastic steering wheel cover I ordered to arrive. Did you take door panels to get to the door trim piece?

    Sorry for all the questions!

I do't think that Canadian weather is better then SF one. Actually the weather is not a factor because you have to take items from the car.
Most items are simple to rip of, like center console or door armrest. After that just unplug all cables and take it home for further disassembling.
I do not remember how many layers of plasti-dip I have applied, 5 or 6 AFAIR. I used IPA 70% to clean a surface for both plasti-dip and for vinyl. I did't remove the steering wheel - too complicated. Vinyl is soft enough to do wrapping with a heat gun.
After all it is not that difficult and can be done in 1 day should you prepare necessary materials. It took longer from me as it was my first DIY car mod project and I have never done this things before.
    Good luck!

Haha true, but being in the Bay area, my place is bit smaller (renting and no garage), so I probably have to do most of the paint work outside and everytime I think to do it, it rains!

Good to hear about process, I bought the orange (of course), metalizer and gloss

Your pics were so good that I thought they were promo shots from Toyota! I didn't think of vinyl wrapping the door window button panels/

I like orange too, I chose blue as I feel it relates more to electric.

Got bored and decided to remove the wireless charging since it's only 1 amp and my note 8 needs at least 2+amps. Added custom plate and added actual things I can use. (12 volt outlets) Plasti dipped the shifter plate as well. Next mood I'm debating doing is relocating the heater controls to where the warning label is by the new 12 volt outlets.

I notice the rubber mat behind the steering column. Is that for resting your phone/tablet on?

I just use it for coins for tolls, saves fumbling around as I approach the toll, phone is always put away in my pocket or in the glove box, never to be touched whilst driving.

I tried to do the same with my 3rd gen lol, but the black wrap is just to bad quality i guess. Gonna have to paint it piano black when it gets warmer. This is before it started... i dont even know what it started. It just appeared bubbles abselutely everywhere....

Did you remove the panel to wrap the dash area as you did?

Is it because of self isolation and the stress of social distancing?
But we seem to be getting a lot of what I call resurrected Zombie Threads, with new comments tacked on to thread sometimes several years old.
I've seen people come back and respond, but this the commentary in this thread is basically 2-3 years old.
So keep in mind if your fishing for an answer, that the fish may of long ago been put in the frying pan.
