    Hello all,

I got a new Pioneer audio for my 2009 Prius and had the electronics shop install it. While the audio is working well, the MFD touch screen stopped showing all values. I cannot see my fuel economy, battery charge, or the outside temperature.
I took the car to Toyota dealer, and they told me that the MFD and Pioneer audio are not properly connected, and that the MFD will only work with the factory audio. Did anybody here have a similar issue? Is there an option for me that does not involve putting the old, barely working factory audio back in?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

there is an adapter harness, made by scosche I believe, which the shop should have installed if they knew what they were doing. it has the 68 ohm resistor wired into it.

I hope the shop soldered all the connections and didn't hack up your wiring harness, or you'll have more problems later.

Thanks a lot for your responses. I will look into the resistor solution and write if it worked.

What type of 68 ohm resistor did you use? I see options for 1/4 watt, 1/2 watt, 1 watt, 2 watt, 5 watt, and 10 watt 68 ohm resistors at my local supplier of electronic components and electrical equipment.

All of them would work, go with the lowest cost which would likely be the 1/4 watt

I never got to try this solution, as the car in question was totalled just a few days after. I hope I never have to deal with a similar issue on my new Prius!
